My husband was 25 when I met him. He was a MS, lived at home and had a steady job. It didn't bother me at all. My father never left home till he was 24 and got married, so it wasn't anything strange or out of the ordinary to me. Honestly, I wish my parents wouldn't have homeschooled me from 7th grade on. I'm already an introvert, and I think it held me back socially in a lot of ways. I became anti-social. It was a fad that a lot of the parents were doing in my congregation. A lot of the homeschooled kids would go out in service all day and not do much school work. This happened all the time. I don't even think many of them graduated. I think it also depends on how involved the parents are. My parents were just like, here are these books. Read them and send in the papers. They weren't involved at all. I was very motivated and made A's, but they never made the last payment to the school, so I never got a diploma. They didn't care at all, and my Dad was an elder. So, I feel bitter about the whole thing. If done right and the parents are involved, I think it can be good. If done wrong, it can really affect the child.

That would be different. I've never seen it advertised around here as such. I wouldn't do it, but I know a few witnesses in my area who do.

Just wanted to add a thought. Here in the US and other places, people still use pinatas at birthday celebrations. In 2003 we had an article about it: http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/102003687#h=1:0-20:45 I think some of the same principles can be applied to the matter of color runs. Quote from Wikipedia- Today, the piñata is still part of Mexican culture, the cultures of other countries in Latin America, as well as the United States, but it has mostly lost its religious character. Could we say that the color run has mostly lost it's religious character? Just a thought.
