I get most of my news online. As I was about to close up, I found in today's "paper"

Jehovah's witnesses "appearing to threaten children who don't pay attention In church with death."

Here it is, the address is pretty long, hope I did it right. Wow, Satan will stoop to anything won't he?

Apparently the last three digits were left off the original link.

As to the article itself, the video has apparently gained the media attention that it did because someone (well-meaning or otherwise) posted it to Youtube and allowed others to comment on it.

it seems that much of the latest media criticism against the organization has been due to youtube uploads (other recent articles being about the US Branch Visit and the LDC seminar).

While some mistakenly believe that Youtube is a way to "reach others who don't visit JW.org", all it does in the long run is allow undefended commentary from self-identified apostates, and leads others to create out of context versions of the same clip for the purpose of misleading others (not unlike the out-of-context quotes in the recent PBS documentary). The organization knows very well how to reach people in the best way, subverting their efforts like this does absolutely nothing to spread the true Kingdom message.

In a way it is laughable ... think about it ... for years Christendom has taught that if you don't do this or you do that you will "Burn in Hell" - and people want to criticize a video that talks about the flood of Noah's day - Please!

"Let all things take place decently and by arrangement."
~ 1 Corinthians 14:40 ~

From observation.

I see a lot of Happy pleasant kids in the Truth..The kids are loved & you can see it in there faces.

I love this Video & really encouraging.

I guess this why our Brothers ask us not share on public social media. There are some people who love negativity.

"It's a known fact that eighty decibels of rushing water is one of the most pleasing sounds known to mankind. On other hand, ten and a half days at sea is enough water for anybody."

Anyone who is capable of thinking would see that this is just a beat-up. Who knows, this may lead some to examine our website more closely. If they are humble enough, they will recognise the Truth.

But, it's a good reminder not to republish the things the Society has already made freely available to anyone who is interested.

I don't know why people can't just be content to let the organization post videos and talks through the official channel.

Anyone who has ever glanced at the comments posted on YouTube or news sites, must realize that apostates seek every opportunity to spread negativity and sow seeds of doubt. Posting on such sites simply make the lives of apostates easier!

Is that what we want? A newly baptized person at our hall accidentally came across the YouTube/Daily News article mentioned above, and was rather shaken by the comments posted.

I find this type of thing quite annoying.

Be careful, there is a lot of apostate material out there - they are busy trying to make trouble for us.  Few legitimate news sources carry such claims for fear of being sued and none I know that would give even a passing glance to a cartoon unless it was by Disney and it picked up an Oscar.  I haven't read the article but if they do they are very very careful to protect wild claims in quotatations or vague references to "our sources" which usually translates as "some aposates we know".

There is no shortage of slander in the Mainstream Media, I don't go looking for it.  If CNN or President Obama picks up the story, I'll possibly take notice.

And the other danger with YouTube is the recommendations for other videos that come up at the side. Somebody could post a very spiritually upbuilding video on YouTube and interested ones may look at it but the problem is that they may also decide to look at other similar videos that are recommended and chances are that they will stumble on apostate stuff. There is no chance of that happening on jw.org or tv.jw.org.

I was once told by a wise elder, anything can be used for good or bad. Youtube, facebook and even this forum are no exception. As long as we live in Satan's system there will always be someone trying to cause Jehovah's people grief. For every thing we post that's positive, upbuilding or encouraging someone will come along with something else to try and tear this organization apart. Just gotta keep your head up, look to the New System and keep going forward.

I live in a temporary reality- awaiting the day I wake up to life in the real world!

I think it's ridiculous, but the upside is that most people will look for the video on jw.org in order to see for themselves.  Even though I've watched it a dozen times, it's what I did.

Many people may keep looking and find something that helps them.

Satan is so stupid.  His tactic is to ridicule and persecute, and it often ends up in producing a far-reaching witnessing effect, like the exile to Siberia.
