If you look, that is not the only problem in that picture

No one is wearing any PPE and the guys that are standing around watching the guy on the wall will fall like bowling pins if he loses his grip on that hammer.

A couple of Nankeen Kestrals chicks that fell out of their nest from one of the beams of our shed on the weekend.

I was able to gather them up and put them back into their nest.

I guess they were listening to Learning to Fly by Pink Floyd that was emanating from the sound system in the shed and they took it literally upon themselves.

Since taking this picture, sadly of the 3 fledglings, one was cannibalized by the parents to feed the other 2. Then one of the fledglings flew out and when I went to put it back in its nest, it wouldn't go back but wanted to stayed it the bucket (the nest was it in the "hat beam" at the end of the beam which is about 5m high at the rear of our shed). The other fledgling just shy away from me and I couldn't get it. So we put into a box the fledgling who was in the bucket, but supplied some raw strips of meat for the other to eat who was still in the nest.

Sadly the one in the nest died the day after, as the parents had abandoned them and must have been starving, as there isn't much food around for them. So the one we had in our possession we continue to feed him up and put it in a mobile chookpen (which we never housed chooks but one of our dogs used as it's kennel) that we had, so it was protected from the other birds and cats we have.

So we looked after it for about 5 weeks until it has lost its baby fluff and had grown to point where we can release her (as a fledgling you cannot see what sex they are until the baby fluff feathers are replaced with mature feathers, males have grey crowns and females have brown crowns). We ended up calling her Bopper, as she always bobbed her head up and down, also at times with her legs.

We released her just the other day, and she is hanging around our yard. She recognises me and my wife, however I who had been caring for her mostly can at least get close enough to give her some meat on the branch of the tree for her to feed herself.
