70s, a beautiful day. Got to spend time with a young Sis who recently attended pioneer school. I was taking my little dog to get bathed at Tractor Supply Store. Younger Sis was hands-off re: little dog, but good company, anyway.

A little doggie run though a tractor wash? My imagination can't handle it, a shampoo and lube?

Deluge, absolutely deluge for last couple days. I'm so not ready for fall.

This is fairly unusual for us we generally have fair weather into mid October.

The storm is here.  Not as severe because it hit some dryer air. But it is still lightning and thundering like crazy.

It looks like there's a hurricane to the South of us.

I can see its eye. 😉

We generally have a really good fall but in September we had torrential downpours and now this morning on my way to work it's 34°! We generally stay in the forties until about the end of October so we have a longer growing season but not this year I've had to harvest all of the squash out of the garden to protect them from freezing. I am so not ready for this weather

I've been waiting for the leaves to turn beautiful colors, but I guess not this year.  I heard they are all bland from Walkill, Patterson and Warwick.  No rain to help them out.   Drizzling doesn't count down my way, that's all we've had for 3 days.  This is a real fall below.  My favorite season.

Oh joy. :(

Had to attend my meeting via the phone tie-in.  Icy roads even kept our visiting speaker at home.  Hans Brinker would have enjoyed our KH parking lot.  It was one big ice rink.

Now, we have a foot of heavy wet snow headed our way, with the possibility of more power outages.  Our last one kept us in the cold and dark for three days. :(

It goes on through Tuesday.  I bet our Mid-week meeting gets cancelled...again. :(

Tonight, NBC News showed those devastating fires in Australia.  Nine dead and tens of thousands fleeing for their lives.  :(

I'd rather face a snowstorm than a firestorm. :(

The winter in my home town is unusually warm for this time of year. I even switch off my heater sometimes or run it only at half capacity. At the moment, the heater is off and it feels really warm. In past winters, I would usually turn it on full blast and even then struggle keeping warm, but not this year.

Neighbouring countries in the region are also having mild winters. For example, Moscow is seeing the warmest winter in 133 years! It is so warm that the local authorities are trying to deliver artificial snow to some streets to make it look like a proper winter on the New Year's eve. :)

Yesterday at Penrith was 48.9 degrees. Was the hottest place in the World. So they say on the News.

Today it's down to 26.  Take care in the Snow Sis and rain.xx

Take care in that weather. I saw this on the BBC news yesterday and was wondering who lived in those parts. Thank goodness for the telephone hook up. It certainly is a blessing.

Current death toll from the fires is 23 so whoever said 9 is giving you old news.

I'm just quoting myself here because I just noticed that Ross made that post originally on 30th December. Interesting to note that 16 people have lost their lives in the fires in the last week.

Also, there must have been another snow storm across the US yesterday/today but I don't know if it's in the same place.

Don't give up .. it's just around the corner.

We've  had so much wind and rain. Was supposed to do cart work  at Dismal Nitch

https://www.nps.gov/lewi/planyourvisit/dismal.htm

But boy its nasty out there we all bailed until next Monday.

I'm thankful we have our blustery 50's weather as opposed to the  heat or snow of you other folks.

Well, it’s 29*f here. With a feel like temp of 17*f.   NW winds at 17mph.

Only an inch or 2 of snow overnight.

Today—brilliant sunshine ☀️ and blue sky.

Can’t beat that. 😁

We got five to six inches of new snow.  We also have the blue sky and sunshine.

I'd almost forgotten what they looked like. :D   Winds gusting up to 45mph are keeping

me indoors.  Bout froze from the windchill whilst filling my birdfeeders this morning. :(
