Updates to JW Library (iOS, Android, Windows)

I wish they will update the app and add the promising features of it before 2023 ends. 💪😁

We can import images and videos into JWL! I already tested it and it worked very well.

Just uploaded the 4.0 version in my iPhone and 'creating playlists' is now here! It includes videos, audio, and images.   Awesome!

Any reports about crashing and complaints? 🫢😆

 

1. It's not playable when the data is off or when I'm not connected to Wifi.

 

2. The PiP features are not accessible when playing videos from Playlists.

But overall, it's encouraging to play videos and music in this beautifully designed app .. Thank you to the sacrifices of our brothers and  sisters who really put so much effort to make this features available on the app ...

I lost all my notes and gems... 😔

Playing around with Playlists, tried using the 2023 Convention videos (I merged the two mornings and afternoons into one file). The timing is all off, but they place nicely.

On my windows, Android, Amazon and iPad devices I didn't lose anyone of my notes. 

 

If you tap notes and tags I seen all my notes. Maybe try to that to see if that helps.

I thought that I had lost mine too, but I tapped the Notes and Tags> and they were there.

Even if I lost my tags for whatever reason, I have my backups. 

 

If you like to have your spiritual food preserved, please back it up.

Update: I tried to backup my Personal Notes and Playlists, and I'm shocked that it was now a LARGE file........

It's 776mb.......... 😲

 

I think it copied the videos and music that I imported on my Playlists.......

Update: I backup my notes and playlists from PC, and there's nothing in my backup. It has a 'zero' bytes. So, there's no file in my backup. 

 

Then, it crashes the JW Library app on Laptop.

If you just upload the files directly (no merging), they will be smaller, and will probably play fine.

Always backup you Gems. If they are valuable, that is what you do. On apple devices, real easy with airdrop.

That's right. I imagine that JWL reports the length of a video based on the metadata embedded in the file. Once the videos were merged manually, the metadata was incorrect.

 

It could be that, or also a bug in the information of the imported videos. These issues happen in an update.

After the update, my dad's iPad lost all of his notes and comments in Jw Library. Most notable in his public talk outlines. Any ideas on how to fix it?

I think your notes are still there, I thought mine was lost also but see them now (took a few minutes to re-appear).

 

Now another issue one one of my iPads (iPad Pro 12.9 3rd Gen) when I’m typing in notes it will randomly erase them and I have to start typing all over. Been doing this all morning.

I can't add to a playlist the Bible audio files or any publication audio file. I think it's possible to add to a playlist only what is in the Audio and Video tabs.

So I'll keep downloading the mp3 files for the meetings and playing them on another app.

I usually make a playlist with all the media for the meeting, including the Bible reading, the book lff, the th brochure, the wt for that week, the songs and videos.

Sister Donna, I'm not sure I understand. You are creating playlists formatting media rather than using the built in media playlist for each meeting?
