Peace and Security, Great Tribulation, Armageddon

Is it safe to say that already done?

No, it is not safe to say that ALL the anointed are sealed.

Remember Rev 7:1-3? Once ALL the anointed are sealed the Great Tribulation begins. As it has NOT begun - they are not all sealed.

Plan ahead as if Armageddon will not come in your lifetime, but lead your life as if it will come tomorrow (w 2004 Dec. 1 page 29)

Soon .....

Honestly, I also lost a bit of my expectations regarding the times and seasons. I don’t know, with the new information, it seems that topics like the generation and, for example, the basement video and the song 'Jehovah Gives Me Courage' have been postponed. Please, don’t take me wrong, try to understand me. It feels like it has become obsolete, like everything that was so close, right before our eyes, just around the corner, now seems like it will take a long time. The feeling was that 1 or 2 years were left until the start of the great tribulation, but now it feels like it could take 15 years or more. Why do I feel this way? All I want is for this wicked system to end so that we can get out of this struggle and the clutches of the Devil’s world. How long, oh my God Jehovah, will we have to wait?

Today I feel sadness in my heart. 😥

On the other hand, it could start at any moment with no lead-up.

some anointed have thought their entire anointed life that the end was just around the corner... some 70 years or even 80 years.....

I know i never thought we would reach the year 2000... but look we are at 2025 just about.

the generation is deep.. and the math says its possible to go many many more years...

whatever... I want to be faithful and loyal to Jehovah and Christ his first born and our oldest brother.  what a privilege.

I am fourth generation witness.

I started field service in October, 1949. So, I have been active in Jehovah's organization for several years.

I "bought in" to the 1975 "frenzy" about four years before the society published the Life Everlasting book in 1966, which published the chronology showing Adam's creation in 4004 BCE, and thus 6,000 years of mankind's existence would end in 1975. Presuming that the seventh "day" would be 7,000 years long (including the 1,000 years of Jesus rule per Revelation), then 1975 had to be when everything would happen.

I was convinced that the fall of 1975 would mean the end of Satan's system on earth.

Well - it did not happen the way I expected. I was surprised and a little disappointed, but I did not let it cause me to slack off in doing what I could in Jehovah's organization.

Having been with Jehovah's organization for all these years, I have heard of those who looked to 1914, then to 1918, and some to 1925. There were other individuals who came up with their own dates based on their own reasoning.

I remember a conversation with a very mature brother from Bethel (a department overseer) when the Berlin Wall came down in 1989, and the subsequent collapse of the Soviet system. We both decided there were at most six months left.

35 years later prove that we were absolutely "out of our minds" trying to determine a date.

Jehvah's organization has told us many times and in many ways that we do not want to be serving him with a date in view. It might be tomorrow. It might be some other date far into the future. We do not know.

All we can do is remember Jesus said "no one knows" and continue doing everything we can every day to advance kingdom interests.

A very dear brother once told me to "live your secular life as if the system will go for another 1,000 years, but live your spiritual life as if Armageddon is tomorrow."

Thanks,

Jim

Though we received or will receive adjustment and lights. Supposedly, these things are new. These will help us to imagine how close we are and make us firmed and strong. Don't worry brother from my personal Bible study everything is in the right track.

I agree. The 1960's were very turbulent times and if at the time we weren't looking at 1975, we would have assumed that Jehovah's Day was just around the corner. That was 60 years ago...

I told friends including elders in the early 90’s that  this system will reach 21st century. They thought I was nuts. They probably think I’m still nuts. It’s 1AM, back to my chocolate.

It's Jehovah's time not ours. All we have to do is to endure, to have love that never fail, always rejoice, to have more faith, pursue peace, exercise patience and be active in declaring good news.

"Like a thief in the night"

1 Thessalonians 5:2

All prophecy points to it being sudden, unexpected and as others have pointed out already, whilst people are still carrying on with their everyday lives.

To me it actually seems closer than ever. More possible, more real. I'm super excited.

.......

The gun is already loaded. Jehovah might pull the trigger any day now.

We live in exciting times!!!!!!!

Edit: I had to delete some stuff when I saw that it wasn't the AM thread. I don't want to spoil anything.

I agree.

The update basically augmented the urgency.

We don't have to see the slow progress of the UN strength (or absence of progress, heh). Now Jehovah can make it happen any day.

You are right . Food at the proper time. I have a strong feeling that it will happen  very soon.

Therefore "always rejoice"

In the past I used a 10 year rolling "goal". At the begininng of each year we just talked and reset our plans, but since 2005 I have been following the suggestion from the Watchtower to just plan ahead as if Armageddon will not come in my lifetime, BUT be spiritually ready as if it is coming tomorrow (w 2004 Dec. 1 page 29).

This has led me to no longer feeling disappointed that it hasn't come yet.

I love this thought...I think (speaking about myself only) that mentally I use the knowledge of the end being close as my reasoning for not really planning to far in advance (I'm talking about past 1 yr). It's like a restriction I've put on myself to think of the here and now and stay in the here and now unless I'm thinking about the New World. Which I feel is restrictive (for me)also because I don't really know how to plan in detail about that since I'm not there yet. @Sofia  I am going to use your idea, even though the time spans will be different. But, keep in expectation always. 🙂

I also loved the rest of the paragraph:

” Father used to say that we should plan ahead as if Armageddon would not come in our lifetime but lead our life as if it would come tomorrowprecious advice that I have always tried to apply. Balancing patience and eager expectation is not always easy, especially since the ravages of old age now keep me confined at home. Yet, I have never doubted Jehovah’s promise to all his faithful servants: “Trust in Jehovah with all your heart . . . In all your ways take notice of him, and he himself will make your paths straight.”—Proverbs 3:5, 6.

TBH i think this is probably one of the best quotes I know. This is exactly how i carry on with my everyday life. The end shall come. Jehovah has set up the right date and time for that thus it shall not come too late or too early, but exactly when it is meant to arrive.

We shouldn’t serve Jehovah with a date in our minds?

when I was a teenager I set up the date for 2000

ive planned my life till then

Nothing happened and I got married meanwhile.

I set up the date 2025 and planned my life for that date

if the end doesn’t come then I will set up the date 2034 and plan my life again.

my life needs a goal to plan

if nothing happens I start a new goal and lead my life accordingly

This way I live constantly with Jehovahs day in my mind

One day it will come!

meanwhile we do our best to serve Jehovah first

And this is how I setup my life now...

In the past, I don't know what to do, and where to go.. I don't have any plans or goals..

But now, I have this in mind that I will set up a spiritual goal for a year (or every year)... and a (plan) or roadmap of my life on how it will be for 10 years.. Whatever will happen in 10 years, I will be eagerly waiting until Armageddon comes.. and whatever comes first, Armageddon or another 10 years of my life, I will still serve Jehovah...

Actually, I'm avoiding saying this, "Whether the end comes or not, I will still serve," because the word "not" here seems to suggest I have doubts about whether the end will really come.

Instead, what I’m saying is, "Whether the end comes or not yet, I will still serve Jehovah."

Even though I’m a bit discouraged with the current situation, I keep preaching, I don’t miss the meetings, I’m always with the brothers, and I continue following the directions from the faithful slave, including maintaining my emergency bag. Although it’s not for the great tribulation, the world is strange, and everything changes very quickly. I will persevere and try to live one day at a time
