"Everybody that was walking up to us in between said, 'well, it's 1 to 2 feet, what's the big deal?' And then when they saw the high mark on these docks, they realized that's 6 feet higher than right now, and the swing happens that fast. So if you're out on a beach and you have a 6-foot increase in the water level inside of 3 minutes, you may be stuck in the water and not able to exit," he said.

At least 22 people have been killed so far after back-to-back earthquakes struck the west of Afghanistan on Monday, officials said.

 

According to data from the US Geological Society (USGS), the 4.9 and 5.3 magnitude quakes affected the north-west province of Badghis, where it caused house and building collapses.

A spokesman told AFP four children were among those found dead in the rubble.

More than 700 houses had been damaged.

Two 6.0+ and seven 5.0+ 

 

Wonder if any of this activity is tied into the shockwave from that tremendous steam explosion that occurred when that volcano erupted the other day?

Another 6.0+ quake just struck up Alaska.

There was a 4.7 magnitude earthquake at 5.24am in Wagin this morning. This is part of the wheatbelt and sheep farming district about 200+kms SSE of Perth.

It is the largest of a swarm that has been felt in the area over the last couple of weeks, but Geoscience Australia is saying that it might not be the last. It was 8kms deep.

 

There were reports of it being felt in the metro area - but I didn't feel it.  I was still asleep. 😴 😁

Oh wow! There is definitely a swarm. Ten seperate 3.0 - 3.8 in last 5 days in Wagin area. That is not normal.

Someone just shared with me that Sunday , 3/13/22 , there was a M4.5 on the Russia-Georgia border region.

 

Speculation that it may have actually been a bomb of some kind.   Thoughts?   A 4.5 seems rather large to be man-caused.

A large deep quake is causing considerable seismic unrest, so it's hard to say for sure.  My phone's been buzzing nonstop for the past two days.
