I can only see ahead how close we are to the end, these adjustments are loving, the sisters will be able to preach wearing pants, it will even be safer to not attract too much attention, the brothers will be more comfortable without suits and ties, but of course, nothing changes in participation, but it's wonderful. Also, Jehovah's care for disassociated ones and those who are estranged is like a special call: 'Come, I don't want you to be left behind, I don't want you to be destroyed.' Although we won't maintain a bond with the disassociated, just a brief welcome greeting is already a very loving act. Those who want to return, those who have this desire will already be able to study the Bible before readmission, this shows urgency. I was very happy with the adjustments, only gratitude to Jehovah.

I really love that the brothers, in the context of Jehovah's merciful, also looked deeper into Jesus' approach.

 

In Revelation 2:21 Jesus said:

"I gave her time to repent".

 

Elders at a judicial meeting have to recognize/assess whether someone is repentant. Repentance determines whether someone can remain in the congregation. But is a 2-3 hour meeting enough time for straying sheep to repent, "produce fruits that befit repentance"?  Now the elders may recognize that someone needs time to repent and help the person in the meantime with shepherd-like care. Very reasonable approach reflect the merciful and love of Jehovah and Jesus.

 

And br. Sanderson used the term "Committee of elders".. that sounds better than "judicial committee" 🙂

Absolutely agreed. As happy as I am regarding ties, that is just a small detail in comparison with the more merciful approach to those who have sinned or are disfellowshipped.

 

It takes a lot of courage to attend a meeting when you are disfellowshipped. To be received with a kind greeting must make things a lot easier.

 

There is a disfellowshipped woman who has been attending our meetings for some time. I am awaiting with anticipation the next meeting to tell her I am glad to see her.

I am so ecstatic with the new treatment of disfellowshiped people. I am almost sure I wrote something before about this. I talked to my husband a couple of times . When you read the two instances in the Bible about treating the wrongdoer, you can clearly see that Paul did not treat both situations the same way. One was harsher than the other one. Now are following the scriptures more accurately. They got it. It is always a matter of being patient with our organization.

how diffrent would that study be as disfelowshipped ones might already know the material well..

Appropriate dress for casual occasions, but I would never wear jeans to an assembly, convention, KH or out in service.

 

I saw enough people wearing jeans to Catholic Church services.  I wore jeans there because I had no respect for that church or its services.

 

I have too much respect for true worship to dress casually for it.

Something very interesting is the change in how to treat minors. Secular law is more merciful with minors. They are treated with more leniency for obvious reasons. Also the government cannot have any type of procedure with minors without the presence of the parents or adult responsible. We are now following the secular laws more accurately 😊

Cotton slacks- okay. Cotton processed into denim- not okay. 😄 But in all seriousness, it is hard to make jeans look dressy. Or as the update said, the pants "should not be casual but dignified, modest, and appropriate."

The direction for delegates invited to intl or specicial conventions are:

We request that no blue jeans, spandex outerwear, or other tight-fitting clothing be worn during the duration of your trip. 

 

Simalar to the dresscode for bethel tours..
