Yeah it's pathetic the turnaround for fuel is 2weeks this war only started a week ago.

I don't understand what you mean. Can you explain what you mean by a 2 week turnaround?

Hear in the AU there is a 2 week turnaround for fuel and oil delivery meaning the price of fuel should not change as it was still the same stock before the war started.

It doesn't work that way here. The prices are driven more by the market than the refiners. Also, even though the refinery current inventory may have been purchased at a lower price and the crack spread increases as the speculation driven futures market goes up, but the reverse is true and the market price may drop while the refinery still has the higher cost inventory.

Of course, one way to help reduce the price of gasoline is to buy stock in the oil company. The dividends and profit may offset the extra expense of gasoline. :lol1:

Gas here has gone up a dollar a gallon from last week to this week. It has been taking daily jumps of 20 to 30 cents each day

As long is the Strait of Homuz is shut down due to this war, the stock market for world trade will keep going down and the prices for food and petro will continue to rise straight up.  The President of the United States, has directed the release of some reserves of oil to help bring prices down in US.  Russia said no gas or oil will go to European countries other than its allies.

What just happened to Iran's Kharg Island?

President Trump just said the US has carried out the "most powerful bombing raids in Middle East history" on Kharg island.

This is a MAJOR escalation for oil markets. Here's why:

Kharg Island has been described as the "crown jewel" of Iran's oil industry. It is a vital, tiny island in the northern Persian Gulf that manages ~90% of Iran's crude oil exports.

Kharg Island alone handles ~2% of global oil supply.

In the lead up to the war, Iran was exporting as much as 3 MILLION barrels of oil per day from Kharg Island. Trump said that the US military has "chosen NOT to wipe out the Oil Infrastructure on the Island" for now.

However, President Trump also said he will reconsider this decision should Iran "do anything to interfere with the free and safe passage of Ships through the Strait of Hormuz," which Iran is clearly doing right now.

In other words, President Trump appears to be paving the path for the destruction of oil infrastructure on one of the world's most crucial oil ports and islands.

It's no coincidence this came just 2 hours after markets closed for the weekend.

Buckle up for a busy weekend ahead.

Today $4.56 per gallon in my town in Oregon but one State east it is as low as $3.21 per gallon.  I think a bit of politics in play here. No way it takes $1.50 a gallon to truck it 70 miles. Both states get their gas from other States via pipeline.

$4.59, with out my tribal discount. And it is probably a dollar more on the coast. I hear this county has the second highest gas prices in the country.
Thats how we roll.
Is sad, but for us, it is a, “Jehovah”, problem. Jehovah will see to it we have the needed means to worship him. And, for a rural area, he will see to it we can get to the meetings. If we have our priorities right.  Yesterday, it cost us some $61.00 to fill up. Minus the 7% discount. A Subaru.

it is a, “Jehovah”, problem' ... I absolutely love Google Translate's rendering of this sentence. It reads: ‘This is a problem that Jehovah has entrusted to us.’ Yes, it's truly beautiful and encouraging to see it expressed this way, from this perspective. @Miss Bea😘😘

I did not know there is such difference in prices in the world. Here in Sweden we pay $7.08 for premium. There is no regular or midgrade available here. Only premium and super premium. So filling up is approx. $94...

Are the r prices Swedish dollars? Euros? Or US dollars?
