*** w17 April p. 20 par. 10 “The Judge of All the Earth” Always Does What Is Right ***
His ordeal as a slave and a prisoner lasted for about 13 years. What lessons can we learn from Joseph’s experience that will help us if we face injustice...

Good account to remember...

Yay!! For our Brother, because he's about to see the hand of Jehovah directly in his life - again. So proud of Brother Dennis ... may I be so dignified in the faces of my trials now, and to come.

Our Father in Heaven, yes, he see's and will act on behalf of his people.  The world knows he's innocent and all of our Russian brothers/sisters.  Only Jehovah can intervene on their behalf.  Someone in here mentioned our video of Joseph, NEVER ALONE, excellent video and song.  Our brother was smiling, he will continue to smile all throughout his trials.  Jehovah has his back!  Am so proud of all who are my brothers and sisters!  What a fine example for us all.  Soon it will be our turn, may Jehovah's name be blessed and glorified!

I was wondering when I read that if Jehovah sees some in the Russian prisons who need a good witness and he's allowing some of his people to go there to reach such ones, as with the tight reign of the government I doubt they allow JW's to study with the prisoners..... On the other hand, this could be the beginning of the events leading to bigger things ahead... Either way, Jehovah will be with His people. ^_^❤️

I live in a temporary reality- awaiting the day I wake up to life in the real world!

As Jehovah’s people we are grieved when governments do bad things to us, oppose us or imprison us.  But how should we react?  How should we speak of them?  How should we view them?  Human anger may cloud our Christian vision.

*** g 9/08 p. 20 What About Honorary Titles? ***

Honor, Not Approval

The apostle Paul counseled fellow believers to “render to all their dues, . . . to him who calls for honor, such honor.” (Romans 13:7) …But some may ask, ‘How can I address a person in such a way when I suspect that his conduct is neither honorable nor excellent?’

… the Bible urges us to subject ourselves to kings and governors “for the Lord’s sake.” (1 Peter 2:13, 14) Hence, acknowledging the position of authority that an official occupies with God’s permission would move us to show respect and render the required honor.—Romans 13:1.

An official’s personal conduct is not at issue in this context. That is not the reason for rendering honor.

*** w02 11/1 p. 13 pars. 16-17 “Maintain Your Conduct Fine Among the Nations” ***

…the main reason we submit to secular authority is “for the Lord’s sake.” It is God’s will. Moreover.—Romans 13:1, 4-7; Titus 3:1; 1 Peter 3:17.

17 Unfortunately, some “unreasonable men” in authority persecute us or oppose us in other ways—such as by promoting smear campaigns against us. Still, in Jehovah’s due time, their lies are always exposed,.. Our record of Christian conduct speaks for itself.

*** w00 6/15 p. 14 Honor the Ones Given Authority Over You ***

Do You Show Respect?

11 Do you show due respect for those in authority? Christians are commanded to “render to all their dues, . . . to him who calls for honor, such honor.” Indeed, our subjection to the “superior authorities” includes not just that we pay our taxes but that we honor the authorities by our conduct and speech. (Romans 13:1-7) Faced with government officials who may be harsh, how do we react? In Chiapas State, Mexico, the authorities in one community had taken over the farmland belonging to 57 families of Jehovah’s Witnesses because these Christians did not participate in certain religious festivals. At the meetings that were held to resolve the matter, the Witnesses, clean and neatly dressed, always spoke with dignity and respect. Over a year later, the decision was rendered in their favor. Their attitude won the respect of some observers to the extent that they too wanted to become Jehovah’s Witnesses!

I think Jesus and Paul set a good example for us to copy. Both of them were respectful to the authorities.

Jehovah will judge them and Jesus will execute that judgement at the right time.  So we leave it to them.

You are right Romans 13: 1 gives the principal for us to follow.

“To Be Released Immediately and Unconditionally”—Statement by the European Union

A few hours after the announcement of the sentence on Dennis Christensen, the European External Action Service issued a statement regarding the verdict.

“Today, a Russian court in the city of Oryol sentenced Mr Dennis Christensen, a Danish citizen, to 6 years of imprisonment. Mr Christensen was arrested in 2017 when Federal Security Service agents raided a peaceful religious meeting of Jehovah's Witnesses in Oryol. He has been convicted on grounds of ‘organising extremist activity’, which amounts to exercising his right to freedom of religion as a Jehovah's Witness. A number of other criminal cases against Jehovah’s Witnesses are also currently pending,” says the statement.

“No one should be imprisoned for peaceful acts of worship in the expression of their religious beliefs.” The statement continues, “The European Union expects Mr Christensen to be released immediately and unconditionally.”

What will this mean then for the persecution and ruling of extremism on the organization?

One small crack doesn't mean you are broken; it means that you were put to the test and didn't fall apart..

Probably nothing. It's just the European Union objecting to what happened.  They are saying he should be released but that doesn't mean that he will be released.
