You do have an interesting point, Sister Grace. :) I have just looked around on the web and climate change is seen as the greatest threat to international peace and security. So when people call for climate action, we could say that they are, in effect, calling for peace and security.

Here are are two interesting reports on the topic:

How Devastating is Climate Change for World Peace & Security?

http://www.ipsnews.net/2019/02/devastating-climate-change-world-peace-security/

How Can the Security Council Engage on Climate Change, Peace, and Security?

https://reliefweb.int/report/world/how-can-security-council-engage-climate-change-peace-and-security

I wonder if this topic should be merged with the international peace and security topic just to keep everything in one place.

This entire thing seems to have a lot of gravity behind it. It is the greatest and most dynamic mass movement I have seen in my life and probably is since national socialism and communism.

It is eerily reminiscent of Morton Rhue's "The Wave". What bothers me about it is that we are always complaining about millenials showing a vastly entitled attitude to things, but this is by far worse. Kids refusing to go to school because they say it's time somebody fixed things for them. To be frank, my generation was demanding the same thing from adults back in the day, but were told there is only so much you can do one step at a time to adjust things. We were given the impression that if something was going to change, it had to be us implementing the change.

The fun fact about the matter is THERE ARE NO SOLUTIONS. If we all went back to iron-age lifestyles there wouldn't be enough source and heating material and it would be equally if not more devestating for the environment since we would have to heat and cook with coal and wood. Nuclear power plants are the perfect source of electricity and power but at great risk and cost for future generations and therefore frowned upon. Electric cars and solar panels are so environmentally unfriendly in the making that many argue they are either equally unfriendly to the environment or far worse. Wind turbines kill animals and the high frequency noises are extremely hazardous to your health. If there is a fix to this problem, it has yet to be invented.

I personally have a great idea for Germany. Fact is, about 90% of commuter vehicles carry only one passenger. A car-pooling app for your phone would be a great solution to get people to car pool more. THose offering drives get points that enable them to fill up with free petrol, those taking advantage of car owners offering a ride pay with PayPal to get points to be able to hitch a ride within minutes with the app. The government could incentivize the project to make it more appealing to people. It's perfectly safe because the app can track who got into whose car, dashcam systems could be implemented to monitor the behaviour of the users similar to how CCTV is used in public transport. It also can't be used for fraud because GPS can confirm whether or not people drove together. However, my project would UTTERLY FAIL because 1.) people want to be flexible and independent when commuting 2.) people are too antisocial to want to hitch up with strangers and 3.) the official public transport sector would have severe problems because it could turn out to be a serious competitor.

And that's another issue why solutions to problems are secondary in this system, because very first and foremost, the main question is CAN I MAKE MONEY WITH THIS?

All I know is that the scripture does not pin point exactly how the nations will have set up to cry out P&S, it will be a big surprise!  There are so many plots out there, it could be anyone of them.   Political, Religious, Commercial, perhaps all 3 in cahoots with one another.  The best part is when Jehovah put's his thought into their minds and heart to carry out his will against Religions. After the nations are all blasting worldwide "We've achieved P&S!"  I hope am with some of our brothers/sister's  (cause we may be under ban by that time) doing discreet informal witnessing.  Not as a big group (to much give away) but one here and one there!  Dressed casually, trying to reach someone's heart.   Then at that time all our faith will be mustered up and courage we didn't even know we had because Jehovah is for his people.  Those men in charge I can guarantee, will be well trained and we best listen to them.  Faith, Trust and Courage will be in front of us like never before.  Oh my you guys in here, you dear sister's, how awesome it will be, Jehovah's right to rule, his name sanctified once and for all time!   I long for that day when it finally comes out, peace and security!  It's their end and our beginning.

Summer 2019 hottest on record for Northern Hemisphere

With the UN's Climate Action Summit set for Monday - and youth-led demonstrations going on around the world, urging leaders to address climate change - the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has just released one of its periodic statements on global climate. Not surprisingly, considering the trend of recent years, the key word is hot. June through August 2019 was the Northern Hemisphere’s hottest summer on record, tied with 2016. Meanwhile, in the Southern Hemisphere, it was the 2nd-warmest winter in the 140-year record.

Yesterday in the ministry I was discussing subject about the future, and this young man tells me...

Being so young,  I do worry about my future in relation to climate change ... the planet is dying.

Man was created as an intelligent creature with the desire to explore and understand :)

Yeah, but there was a guy named Kennedy that got everybody out from it. This time around it’s different, and only Jehovah can resolve this issue now. This is the biggest threat Humans face now.

Could Climate Change be the cry of peace and security

If not the cry of peace and security, definitely the fulfillment of Jehovah's promise to destroy those who are destroying the Earth.

Revelation 11:18

But the nations became wrathful, and your own wrath came, and the appointed time came for the dead to be judged and to reward your slaves the prophets and the holy ones and those fearing your name, the small and the great, and "to bring to ruin (or to destroy) those ruining the earth.”

Interesting thought? I’m not sure how global warming has an effect on Peace? Perhaps yes on security - food and water yes I see an issue with.

Climate change is seen as a threat multiplier. For example, if Central Asia had the same kind of drought as Australia does, there would certainly be a conflict over water. Some countries in the region are already water stressed in addition to having other problems like ethnic tensions, poverty, authoritarianism, and if you add climate change, you get an explosive situation.

Here is another example. Many experts say that the Syrian war was triggered by climate change. In mid 2000s, there was drought in the rural areas, and many people started complaining about it, but the government did not do anything. Then large crowds of farmers moved to cities, creating tensions and eventually leading to an uprising.

Here is an interesting research paper on the role of climate change in the Syrian war: https://journals.ametsoc.org/doi/full/10.1175/WCAS-D-13-00059.1

Here is another interesting report on climate threat to peace:

It's that serious.

There's also people that preach that it's wrong to have children because humans have the greatest impact on climate change.

It feels like every day they find something new to preach against, from what food you should or shouldn't eat, what you should or should not wear, how you should travel and how you ought to get to work. Lately, SUV's are the new big thing to preach against in Germany.

It actually reminds me a lot of this scripture

Quote

However, the inspired word clearly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired statements and teachings of demons, by means of the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, whose conscience is seared as with a branding iron. They forbid marriage and command people to abstain from foods that God created to be partaken of with thanksgiving by those who have faith and accurately know the truth. For every creation of God is fine, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is sanctified through God’s word and prayer over it.

1 Timothy 4

In any case, what this scripture confirms is that no matter what climate change activists say, you may eat that steak with a clear conscience even if the cattle didn't live a humane life.

All human political/activist movement's ultimately involve power, at first they come all powerful and righteous seeming with the aim of fooling us ( the people in the world are already distracted) but the longer they go on the more the hypocricy and other cracks become evident. The purpose of all this is the same as the Cold War anti Nukes protests, namely to distract and divide the people. I was in the world then and couldn't stand them, I still can't stand them.

But that the Climate Change lobby is leading to the cry of P&S ... honestly I want more time for my calls but if it is the Climate Changers I shall be :lol1:

Climate Change is the ultimate proof of the Sovereignty argument.  If there's one thing that needs global rulership, it's this.

Of course, if there's one thing I've learned from the last few years, it's that you don't need facts, or even the illusion of facts. It could come at any moment, someone declaring victory, with nothing to back it up.

We have burned last tree....we have bleached last coral...we have killed last lion...we have melted all ice

Nothing left to destroy anymore ...so yeah..we proclaim Peace and Security! LOL :lol1:

Trump will hold session on religious persecution instead of attending UN climate summit

In other words, Trump is playing to his political base.  The people that voted him in office tend to be pro-religion and anti-climate change belief.

Been listening to the UNGA 74th Assembly. Leaders keep talking climate. Current one of Chile just called it the mother load of all issues and that human beings are the only creature to destroy their own home to this level.
