US Election Outcome

OP's topic was originally about looking for justice in this system and the realization of how pointless that all is. This system is all about money and power being used to get away with anything and everything - and it looks like that will continue until our Creator with the greatest wealth and power puts a stop to it.

As many have said - the best is yet to come (and that does NOT refer to the outcome of any human election).

Jerry,

Nice redirections on this topic refocusing on how we benefit spiritually. As witnesses, you can take us out of the news but you can’t take the news out of us! Even Jesus admitted that he’s not asking the father to take us out of this world when saying we are no part of it. This world is our current context. We just need to stay constantly on guard.

What I would have loved to hear more about from us is what particular understanding of the scriptures is reinforced. For instance:

In revelation, we already established our understanding of the triumvirate of Satan’s earthly organizations: the harlot, Babylon the great; the kings of the earth; and the merchants! Does the US election deepen your understanding of any part of the texts in revelation regarding these. Or is there any part of the news that you’ve used in an interesting way in the ministry? Perhaps the undeniable and blatant but indirect purchase of votes by the billionaire class, the fact that the evangelicals are stuck with a bible salesman, the corrupt deals being made along with quid pro quo for power by the oil & gas CEO, WAPO barred from endorsing a candidate because Amazon is terrified of retaliation, any new potential understanding of what 666 might be, and many more news like that backing what we know from the scriptures.

There’s also the fact that we are winners no matter the outcome of the election. Recall we gave up our own individual will for Jehovah’s. The outcome is probably saying this system still have a little time left. Or that this system has run out of time. Whichever every witness knows that it must get worse first before it gets better (Rev. 12:12). We should be prepared for all eventualities. And as for me, I have been warming up for “maga-geddon”! I will not be caught consuming electronic and cable news like a junkie about the latest verbal diarrhea, or tweet! Hopefully I don’t get deported back to my village though in Africa!

Brother,  you have a rich vocabulary, which I enjoy and admire.  You nailed it with 'triumvirate'; the three primary components of Satan's world system:  Political ~ Religious ~ Commercial.

I would suggest that if you used any current events as talking points in the way you present them here;  votes for sale,  Trumps Bible,  the Washington Post declining to endorse the democrat candidate, MAGAgeddon, as a man on the street I would think you are anything but neutral.

What is a typical day in the ministry like for you?

2 Peter 2:17-19

Quote

17 These (Politicians) are waterless springs and mists driven by a violent storm, and the blackest darkness has been reserved for them.+ 18 They make high-sounding statements that are empty (word salads or lies). By appealing to the desires of the flesh+and with acts of brazen conduct, (promote LGBTQ/Immorality)* they entice people who have just escaped from those who live in error.+ 19 While they are promising them freedom, they themselves are slaves of corruption;+ for if anyone is overcome by someone, he is his slave.*

Things haven’t changed that much in 2000 years. :coffee:

Has anyone seen any warnings of civil unrest for the next week or so?

Jer 29:11-“For I well know the thoughts I am thinking toward you, declares Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not calamity, to give you a future and a hope.”

Psalm 56:3-“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”
Romans 8:38-”For I am convinced...”

Hello bro Doug,

Thanks for engaging. Using current news without being labeled is an interesting conundrum, as that will always sound like leaning to the right or the left of the political calculus/geosphere. Of course, I do feel safer saying that here because those are the sides making current waves of news. The "left's" history of moral bankruptcy and permissiveness disguised as freedom has been well documented. Here are two introductions that have made people very receptive to the message I found in the ministry:

1. Every 4 years in the US during the election year, people are hopeful and disappointed simultaneously. What is your experience with this? [Wait for response.] How/where can you have/get hope that does not lead to disappointment? The Bible speaks of a hope that does not lead to disappointment (Rom. 5:5). What is that hope?

2. We live in an era of disinformation and misinformation. It is affecting all aspects of human life. It can be very difficult to know who you can trust. Have you or anyone you know personally been affected by this? [Wait for response.] Which one do you think should come first: to know or to do (John 17:3)?

What about you? How have you been using current news?

Not yet. Everyone, do not worry about me. Worry about those who want to attack me because I am surrounded by Judge Rutherford’s Rainbow Books and Pastor Russell Studies in the Scriptures. They would wish they never got hit with one of those books.

It should not be that farfetched to think there has to be in some parts, as politics is now becoming a zero-sum game. Aren't the candidates (supposedly well-protected by the SSS) getting shot at (either real or imagined)? I'll advise myself to load up on stuff like a Foodie to last a week or two for the family.

It's that wonderful time of year again, when people's thoughts turn to violence and civil unrest.

I was thinking of doing a Christmas song parody and decided not to...:lol1:

And so it draws near…I could care less one way or the other, I just want the election to be over, it’s all over the news. Election Day is only a little more than a week ahead

Leviticus 19:18: “‘You must not take vengeance nor hold a grudge against the sons of your people, and you must love your fellow man as yourself.”

Festus I agree 100% but I would leave that part out about the “lefts history”  out of a presentation. I think you did.... Just sayin’.

I like this presentation as long as we are prepared to stay neutral, even if the HH starts complaining about a candidate, We have to keep the focus on the Kingdom as the only solution

The fringes of either party may act up, depending on who wins,  but I doubt it goes anywhere.

However, It seems the “Clay in the feet” is going to remain there until the end....to keep the iron weakened from what is was. Trump wants to get the clay out  of the “iron” but the clay is too pervasive these days with , Abortion activist, Climate activist, BLM, Gender activist, Antifa militant activist and a whole bunch more.

Obama  implemented policies allowing transgender individuals to serve in the military openly. The Trump reversed these policies, citing potential impacts on military readiness, cohesion, and medical costs. However, President Biden quickly reinstated the Obama policies, allowing transgender individuals to serve openly once again.

These are all leftist and are pandered to by the politicians on the left to enforce these policies.   Maybe it’s just me, but it’s disgusting. As Jesus said....like Sodom and Gomorrah.  :coffee:

The “right” side of the political spectrum is more of the old iron type. Peace by strentgh. Less Government control.....Family, Church, and country.  They fringe in that group are the red neck like white supremist etc......

While their policies make way more sense than the left....as experience has shown, as a you hear them speak, they can only do so much unless congress goes along with it. The politicians are, or have been very immoral people, womanizing....and bragging..... Exalting themselves , etc.

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Responses to the bits I highlighted:

1.)  Strike "What is your experience with this"?  It invites a political discussion.

2.)  Another hot , controversial topic.  May trigger a discussion about conspiracy theories.

3.)  Too deep.

I express only my viewpoint, of course.  It may also depend on your territory, and you know it best.

I have heard of territories where you must avoid even wearing red or blue, as these colors are associated with the two political ideologies.  Sounds like gang colors, doesn't it?

I just think we need to be cautious as serpents and innocent as doves while engaging in the Lord's work.  Burt just expressed what I'm saying.

It's beginning to look a lot like chaos,

the losers are ready to riot

Your house, my house, the White House

No place is safe from the fight

January 6th will be here soon

A day in history to repeat

Men and women everywhere

Violence in the street

Yes I believe we will know everything that’s happened in history based on Luke 8:17: “Nothing hidden that will not become manifest,” nor “anything carefully concealed that will never become known and not come out in the open.” And like someone already said, Jehovah will make sure we are not harmed by those memories…

bro, the householder is free to attempt to talk or express political or conspiratorial views. The onus is on us to drive that towards bible message and remain neutral…

Burt,

Definitely, our neutrality must hold firm. With our current approach to all the householders express what is in their hearts, it allows us to redirect them towards the biblical solutions. A student once told me that there’s only one party in the USA, the Republican Party! You are either more republican, or less republican. According to the student, when people are struggling and barely making ends meet, they subscribe to the mantra “sharing is caring”! However, when they got to certain level of comfort, the mantra change to “pull yourself up by your bootstraps”, or “poverty is dangerous to your health, work for the money you earn”! Her comments allow me to lead the conversation to “all politicians are the same, when pandering, paying lip service to issues and policies.”

There is an analysis I came to a while back as to the reason why urban areas seem more democratic and the rural areas more republican. It’s about the population density and interpersonal distance. It will be nice to see what other analyses you have seen as people are quite very complex to psychoanalyze.

I haven't been following this too much; but I think the election's on Tuesday?

(that's Melbourne Cup day here in Australia, so most people will be watching that not the US election. ) 🙂

In Australia, it's mandatory to vote - no option to opt out.

If you don't vote, you'll get a letter from authorities asking for reasons why. They do give you options. In the past, the usual response has been to write a letter detailing why we don't vote; and that seems to have been successful.
Not sure if that's changed at all now.
I guess next election will let us know.

NGL depending on where you are and who wins, that might just be the safest thing to do. Don't know if people might cause havoc if their side doesn't win. You can imagine the chaos it would be in a hardcore blue state like Cali or New York if Trump ends up winning
