There's a brother in this forum who lives near the area.

He's given me some information, but I think it is not official, so please be cautious:

Quote

"I don’t have much news. I’ve been told that there are a great many brothers and sisters affected, some missing, and some who have passed away. Rescue teams organised by Bethel have been sent. Messages have been sent to the preaching groups, asking if we can provide accommodation, meals, open our homes for those who need to freshen up, as well as offering clothing, blankets, and other supplies."

I got this message yesterday:

"The regional relief committee reports that material damage has been reported to our brothers and sisters in the disaster area, but that no one has died or is missing. We encourage you to keep your emergency package up to date. If further assistance is needed from our side, this will be reported." "There is also a relief committee present in the area"

I live in the city of Valencia, Spain. We do not have any official information about whether there are any deceased or missing brothers. Some brothers have told me that there are missing brothers and some dead, but that is not official. We know that there are many affected brothers. Messages have been sent to my preaching group to see if we can offer accommodation, showers, food, clothing, blankets,... The news says that there may be 1900 missing people but it is impossible to know since they have to check thousands of vehicles swept away by the water and check underground parking lots, ground floor apartments and workplaces etc.... There are more than 5000 soldiers and 5000 police and others from rescue and emergencies. In addition, it seems that another 5000 soldiers are going to arrive since there are many towns where help has not yet arrived and the streets need to be cleared of hundreds of vehicles piled up and belongings, furniture, appliances etc. that are in the street, clean the mud... It will take time to find all the missing if they are all found.  Today, dead people have been found on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea who were swept out to sea. ....So far, 217 dead people have been found.

Oh my...! People don't like the King and Queen over there! They think it's their fault!

Spain's king and queen pelted with mud in flood-hit Valencia

'Get out,' Spain's king and queen told by protesters flinging mud at them after devastating flood

Well, in the US the Republicans are blaming Biden for bringing the hurricane!

People don't think the flooding is the king's fault. Rather they blame him for not moving a finger to help, and then going there five days later just to appear in a picture.

The whole situation was a disaster from the very beginning, due to inefficiency, lack of interest and rivalry between local and national politicians. There was a warning the flood was coming, but some politician couldn't be bothered to inform the population. The warnings only came many hours later when hundreds had already drowned trying to flee the sudden flooding. The army was ready to go and help rescuing survivors, but due to political fights the local authorities kept refusing the help for several days. People are very upset with useless politicians and the whole system who has failed them once again.

In this situations were no one is in control of the nature, it is normal to react late or unwisely. Also a lack of communication is always involve in this situations.  It is very difficult to act wisely . It is human nature to fail.... Don´t you think so? Jeremiah 10:23

Yes, that is one of the causes. Another is building and living in areas that can be flooded. There are scientific studies that show that these populations are in a flood zone.

That's true. We often do not react in the best way in emergencies. But in this particular case it was more a case of refusing to cooperate because politicians see each other as enemies.
