"As a sailplane pilot I thought I had it made. Looking for lift? Off Torey Pines I saw two seagulls that were catching a lift that I couldn't see. Unusual lift since it was over the ocean. The seagull experts told me different, there was a collumn of rising air just what a sailplane pilot  needs. Lots of lift three miles off the coast, great flight until .... the seagulls started flapping their wings and went home.  Ooops.

I couldn't flap my wings, the good thing was I could swim. After that I went back to flying machines with a motor on the front."

There is a paraglider port in Torrey Pines with a little cafe, it's fun to hang out and watch the paragliders. The chicken salad sandwich isn't as good as they say it is...😁

Did you catch that spectacular coronal mass ejection at the 5 min and 23 seconds mark?
