Correct. Given proper instruction on safe gun handling, which includes proper muzzle control and trigger discipline,  a single shot pellet gun such as this is a perfect vehicle to instill safe gun knowledge into a young boy. However, it is decidedly dangerous to flies, should they venture too closely.

 

Your link has nothing at all to do with this type of pellet gun, your link sensationalized an injured girl who was shot by police in a riot situation, using a type of shotgun shell firing hundreds of pellets with one shot.

 

Tragic, to be sure, but, not even remotely the same....
