My daughter walked from the kitchen to living room to see this, he posed himself!

This is the 'kitten' they found near frozen in the wheel well of a truck last December.

Isn't he cute!

Yes, he is really cute! I think he looks like a Kuril bobtail cat. They have a stocky body with a short tail, and are often called "a catdog".

He is a bobtail! And he fetches like a dog! He's amazing, love that kitty! My favorite.

Told MD, hope she looks into it. He really is a sweetie.

And if he is a bobtail cat, be careful.

Why is that?

That is great! It is actually one of my favourite cat breeds too. There are two types of bobtails: one is from Japan and the other is from the Russian Kuril islands. So they can be quite expensive.

They also follow you like a dog, and can be taken for walks on a leash. They are also very clever and learn all kinds of dog tricks. Many folks over here say that their bobtails go on the toilet like humans and some even flush.

Because I read/heard/understand that bobcats are and can be dangerous.

There is a difference in a "bobtail cat" and a "bobcat"

Quote

The Bobtail is a breed of domestic cat. It is most notable for its stubby "bobbed" tail about one-third to one-half the length of a normal cat's tail or shorter.
Scientific name: Felis catus
Rank: Breed
Higher classification: Cat

Mass/Size: Normal "house cat" size

Quote

The bobcat is a medium-sized North American cat that first appeared during the Irvingtonian stage around 1.8 million years ago. Containing two recognized subspecies, it ranges from southern Canada to central Mexico, including most of the contiguous United States.

Scientific name: Lynx rufus
Lifespan: 7 years

Mass: 19 lbs

While the "bobcat" is a "wild animal" and can be quite dangerous ... the "bobtail cat" is a "domestic animal" and makes a very docile pet

Oh.

Well I was under the impression that if a cat is born with a bobtail, then that makes him a bobcat.
