Terribly overcast here.  I'm holding out hope but we're about an hour or so away from the start of the fun and there is not much clear sky.  I'm bummed.

So far no full eclipse. It's browny red at the moment. Has the world ended yet? ;)

The total eclipse happened at 10:10 pm EST here, in Trenary, Michigan USA and it has

remained in total eclipse for the past 35 minutes now.  I was expecting Jehovah's nightlight

to start shining again just a few minutes after it was engulfed in earth's shadow.

 

Not like other lunar eclipses I've seen before, that's for sure.

 

Hasn't been a Super Moon total eclipse since 1982 and there won't be another one til 2033.

It's really something to see.

It should still be going on until 9:30 or so, go out look again.

Wow!! Wow!! Wow!! Can't help but yell out “You are worthy, Jehovah our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they came into existence and were created.” !!

Finally!  The shadow is passing by and a slender sliver of moon is now showing.

One thing about the moon being in shadow, it allowed for an amazing view of the

rest of Jehovah's starry heavens and the Milky Way.

 

All in all, a pleasant way to pass a balmy, late-September Sunday evening.

After getting chewed up by a whole family of mosquitoes, I figured out why it is called a blood moon. It must be a mosquito holiday...

This pic was taken with 10X zoom. The moon was hiding behind a thin layer of clouds and was very difficult to see during the full eclipse. This pic was taken at 8:10 P.M. when the eclipse was about over.

I woke up at 3am.  The best time to view here in UK was apparently about 3:30am.  I went to the bathroom and then thought to myself, "Should I go out and take a look?"

Then I thought, "Don't be a fool!" and went back to bed.  Plenty of photos today and I was snug and warm in bed.
