My take on the broadcast

Great introduction part on the connection between love and free will, very deep

 

My wife didn't stop crying during the part with the young model sister. I personally would have liked to see more, hear more about what compelled her. I felt like the picture that triggered her wish to come back, there must have been more to the story and I'd liked to have heard it. I also would have liked to know more about the cameraman. Did she talk to him? What did he say? What can we learn from it? Who are the loved ones that she wants to see again in the New World?

 

Brother Jackson's part was very compelling. We all need to work on this since times are getting severe. For example, Shia LaBoeuf and Jaden Smith made this livestream where people could stand on a street corner and repeatedly say "He will not divide us" into a camera like a mantra. Instead of achieving any unity, there were constant arguments, fights and trolling. The left can't even get along with the radical left anymore it's gotten so bad. Also, we need to be careful to get political because we feel it is somehow for our purpose. According to Bro. Jackson, this is even the case when it affects spiritual matters like conscription. We need to expect opposition until our King has arrived. I also liked how he clearly referred to the U.S. presidential election without making it clear he was doing so (a candidate who shares our gender.... saying 'I hope that idiot doesn't come into power')

 

I would have liked to hear Sister Putzingers entire experience in German, not just half of it

I found the piece of paper that she was put under pressure to sign very interesting. The wording was typical, German "Amtsdeutsch" (officialese German?) and might as well have been written today, there was no reference to nationalsocialism or the Führer.

At the 52:28 mark of the broadcast, Brother Ekrann mentioned a new music video about a group of young ones who visited Bethel and sang a song about their experience, to be released later in the month. That video, entitled Why We Came to Bethel, is now at this link.

 

I have taken the audio portion of the video and made an mp3 file out of it for you, including the "Thank you Jehovah" at the end of it. (Just beautiful. ) It's in my small collection of songs.

It wasn't hard to do as the subtitles can be extracted from the MP4 file. (using the ffmpeg on windows 10 utility)

 

The raw subtitle file has to be formatted to consolidate the lines into sentences. (this was done using the portable gvim editor)

 

A brother from Perth did most of the formatting and putting in the pictures in Microsoft Word.

Aha, but an apostate or opponent could take that as a  reason for criticism as well, see? "Jehovah's Witnesses aren't allowed to have a sense of humour because laughing about things would undermine the authority of their so-called "faithful slave" blablablabla

I mean for real these people are able to see Baphomet's head in pictures in our publications (when you turn to page so-and-so and cut out the bottom left part, turn it 56° degrees then mirror it and paint the blue part red, it's a devil's head!!) so there's no stopping this kind of thinking, is there. And seeing as I can't change that, I prefer to laugh about it, too. If I may.

I wonder if I'm doing the right thing releasing the past transcripts of the JW broadcast in this thread.

 

Should I release each old previous months transcripts in the thread for the month?

 

I initially thought that its better to release it here as its the current months thread and attention would be focused on it by more members.

 

I've already extracted the subtitles up to May 2016. So there will be a few more months of transcripts to be released. Prior to May 2016 the subtitles are not provided by JW.ORG.

Alexa, the post for the JWB feb 2017 transcript is in Post ID #107 of this thread.

 

I could only extract the subtitles in english. I don't think its available in Tagalog.

You're right. Subtitle ay hindi makukuha sa Tagalog. (Subtitles are not available in Tagalog.)

As long as the Title is worded so that the search function can find it easily.  It would probably be best to put it in the Thread that is Pinned each month rather than a separate Thread.  It is also possible to edit it into the OP each month so that it is easy to find.
