Updates to JW Library (iOS, Android, Windows)

There is a 91 MB update to our Study Bible on the JW App android version.

Is there any way to find a change log somewhere?  I'm always curious to what was changed when we get workbooks, songs, videos, etc. updated!  Not that it's important; I'm just curious.

Ability to stream or download any audio or video program.

 

Ability to download audio recordings and embedded videos from a publication’s table of content

There’s a new icon when you click on a Bible verse in the NWT. It will open up the Research Guide Scripture Index references right away.

It looks like the GN brochure will play the downloaded videos without streaming them..

I love this! I love the Research Guide and it’s nice that it’s integrated in the Bible now.

Another option is to download each Bible book. You can this by going to the overview.

On iPad it is 1GB for the audio, 1.5GB for the videos at 720p.

 

edit: When playing a video, dragging the handle at the bottom to a new position now works correctly on iPad. (Previously it would get stuck after dragging it.) 🙂

Here is how you do the downloads: 1st 3 images are for the study bible and the 4th is for the what can the bible teach us book

You can also choose to stream audio or download the audio from publications.

I’m wondering why videos previously downloaded for books are showing as available with Watchtowers etc. I don’t know which videos it is referring to.

If you select stream, it reminds you once that you have the ability to download the audio / video.

 

I guess jw.org are encouraging us to move away from streaming as its a waste of resource if you frequently stream the audio / video.

I also think they encourage us to download and store the information, so that if the website ever gets taken down, we will still have the information...
For my personal situation, my data allowance is limited, so I DL whenever I get free Wi-Fi. I cannot afford to stream.
