I heard laurel mostly but there has been a couple of times I have heard Yanny.

Micah 4:5 ......"we, for our part, shall walk in the name of Jehovah our God to time indefinite, even forever."

John 15:13 "No one has love greater than this, that someone should surrender his life in behalf of his friends."

This article takes a look at it.

My husband says if he listens on the smartphone speaker he hears yanny (and I'm hearing it too, now when he played it) but when he listens to it on the headphones he hears laurel. Wild!

Yanny. But I have industrial deafness from working with machinery.
On TV last night they put it through filters on a spectral analyser and speculated that the high frequency biases hear yanny, and lower biases hear Laurel.
So low frequency loss (naturally or through 'tinny' speakers) favours a higher piched voice and yanny.
Better quality speakers (or headphones) and good hearing, leans to a lower voiced Laurel.
Add to this a preconceived idea, and it can vacillate, bit like those black and white drawings where you see an old or young woman, but in hearing - not sight.

I hear laurel my wife hears yanny ... she thought I was nuts ... that’s another story..

The NY times  has an article on it with a slider that allows you to hear the differences .... it seems it is our perception of low tones or high tones

I hear lower tones better and my wife hears higher tones better. ..

According to Richards post.... for the record it is Laurel..  😂

From NY times article..

One way to understand the dynamics at work is to look at a type of chart called a spectrogram — a way to visualize how the strength of different sound frequencies varies over time. The spectrograms above show that the word “laurel” is strongest in lower frequencies, while a simulated version of the word “yanny” is stronger in higher frequencies. The audio clip shows a mixture of both.

Zeph 3:17 Jehovah your God is in the midst of you. As a mighty One, he will save. He will exult over you with rejoicing. He will become silent in his love. He will be joyful over you with happy cries....... Love it....a beautiful word picture.

So today I can only hear Laurel via the same headphones. I cannot hear Yanny on any of them... and people wonder why I get anxious when my nervous system feels like it's being rewired day by day?

I don't understand why anyone is confused, this happens at our house all the time.

I say 'dinner' and my wife hears 'restaurant'

She says 'mow' and I hear 'Television'

I say 'steak' and she hears 'salad'

She says 'shopping' and I hear 'budget'

CAUTION: The comments above may contain personal opinion, speculation, inaccurate information, sarcasm, wit, satire or humor, let the reader use discernment...:D
