Was this the Hall in Lunea?  I do remember this.  A couple of my friends were injured.

My uncle got the blame for a while.

Thanks for the update. He eventually got caught.

According to this Awake article, the Kingdom Hall was in Casula. But it looks like Casula and Lurnea are pretty close together. So I guess it's the same one.

Also, I was noticing your comment in the other topic about your uncle getting blamed. What cleared him? As for Leonard Warwick, they say it was his DNA that was found in the Kingdom Hall. So that's one thing. But his lawyer is fighting hard to get him off for the other murders. We'll see how this turns out.

Your right it's Casula.  At the time my uncle had a certain reputation towards my aunt. He stormed in took his son out. Created a lot of conflict.  He is better these days. The visit from the brothers have helped out.  He was somewhere else this day.

Another one today from the defence lawyer... It was a "gossip club" story?

https://www.portlincolntimes.com.au/story/6692973/court-bombings-case-gossip-club-lawyer/

What I find curious is that the Crown attorney took just two days to sum up his story, but the defence attorney is taking three... so far. And he's still not done?

And another curiosity about the above article...

The defence lawyer says that his client and his ex-wife

had a "cordial relationship" and worked through their matters "very successfully".

If that's true, why were he and his wife against each other in a courtroom all those years? (1979 to 1986) ...and he was consistently on the losing side... (???)

I remember it as the 'Family Court Bombings.' It appears he was unhappy with the way he was treated.
From Wiki:
"The Family Court of Australia attacks were a series of shootings and bombings in New South Wales, Australia from 1980 to 1985. They were targeted at judges, and other people, associated with the Family Court of Australia. In the attacks two people were shot dead, two killed by bombs, a court building was damaged by a bomb, and another bomb was found attached to a motor vehicle. In late July 2015 a Leonard Warwick was charged over the attacks."

Oh, I got your joke. I saw your name in your profile. However, I don't think it likely that your last name is Warwick. So that's why I posted the "confused" reply.

Okay, if your last name is indeed Warwick, I think it's likely a coincidence.

We've been waiting with bated breath on the outcome of this story. It has taken this long for the judge to consider all the evidence! A date for the decision of the court has been given.

Okay, so here's what happened, as told to me by my father, who knew some of the people in question.

Back in the 1980's, Leonard Warwick, a former firefighter was angry because his wife was leaving him out of fear. It led to a bitter custody dispute, and she had to hide from him for a while.

The wife in question had a sister, who was a JW. So the Cong gave this woman the assistance of some brothers to get her things out of the house quickly and safely, moving her to another part of the state.

So, this man then proceeded to plant a bomb under the stage of the Kingdom Hall, and there were casualties. (Notably, Peter and Susie Schultz, who are currently serving at the Brooklyn Bethel. I'm not sure which one, but one of the Monthly Broadcasts has them being interviewed by Geoffrey Jackson.) He planted the bomb to go off with the blast aiming out at the audience, but it fell over, and instead  up, and blew the Public Talk Speaker straight out the roof. (He survived, and continued to give talks, with the assistance of two walking sticks. He remains a strongly active and respected brother to this day.)

But Leonard Warwick happened to cut himself while crawling around under the stage. More on that later.

LW then went on to bomb the Judge of the Family Court, the Judge's home, as well as three other judges that heard his case, and a few other places, including the home of one of the Congregation Members in question.

They finally arrested him in 2015, and he plead not guilty to everything.

After all this, they finally found him guilty today, based on DNA evidence taken at the KH he blew up. Took thirty years for the technology to catch up, but they found a match with his daughter. Four murders, over twenty charges; and they finally proved it.

All this happened before I was born, but I remember as a kid that our Hall was searched for suspicious activity before and after every meeting. That went on for more than ten years.
