What's actually going on in the Middle East?

Trying to follow the news these days (Especially Twitter) is like trying to be forced to take a 'side.' Several people say one thing, another several say something else and all the new sites even ones that used to be trust able all have an agenda to get across. Conspiracy Theories everywhere. It's madness trying to get a real sense of what's going on. Some are saying Israel is at fault and terrorists uprooting families from homes.  Others are saying Palestine is spouting propaganda. More are saying China's Muslim crisis is a lie and they're perfectly happy singing and dancing while more are saying they're in terrible conditions and people are paid from China to say stuff.

In other words, I have no idea what to believe when it comes to world events and following the news. I know in neutrality probably everyone is at fault. But with all the stories of 'this is propaganda' 'no that's propaganda. Some clarity would be nice X_x

So I thought to ask here, since we have people from all over, and due to neutrality, the best source to know what's going on since no one would lie to make their country look good.

Does anyone have a clear idea?

Unfortunately even on this site. So many on here that there’s now even a section devoted to it!

Yes, many members continue to post and discuss unsubstantiated news, so a forum had to be developed so it could be separated. It makes it easier for the members that want to avoid that type of information.

Now, let's stay on topic....

I was just looking for a timeline of events without the bias of who started it. Like what happened to set it all off this time. How we're at this point.

Edit: And the actual state of the people there.

Hopefully something like this is what you were expecting:

In October 2020, the (modern) Israel Supreme Court’s decided to expel the Palestinians from Sheikh Jarrah, a small neighborhood in the Eastern Jerusalem. Some believe this decision was made by Benjamin Netanyahu, a current prime minister of Israel, in order to gain people’s trust more.

In May 7, 2021, thousands of Palestinians—who supports Hamas, a political party in Palestine,—started riots in Al-Aqsa Mosque in response to the above decision, causing (modern) Israel police to put them down by force. 200 people has been injured during this riots.

In May 11, Hamas attacked Israel with multitudes of military rockets. In response, Israel also attacked Gaza Strip with similar air strikes. By May 13, over 100 people and 30 children have died, and 600 people has been injured from these attacks, and they are on going.

Some details may have been added or omitted, but are purely unintended.

You have to keep in mind that the conflict goes back further than October/November, 2020, and that the people expelled feel that they are second class citizens with few or no rights. Most of its present Palestinian population is said to come from refugees expelled from Jerusalem's Talbiya neighbourhood in 1948.

It’s quite a mess, flaring up over and over in the decades since the formation of modern Israel. Wars and proxy wars between Israel (with American backing at times) and Palestine + other Arab neighbours (with Soviet/Russian backing at times). I feel very sad for our faithful brothers and sisters in that volatile area.  This latest conflict has the potential to really set things off.

Since this is a discussion of a current major world event, I've moved it to the news forum.  I'm sure plenty of links to news articles will be found.

This site will send you a daily email with news that is supposedly as neutral as you can get.

I hope it's ok to ask this here..Can anyone tell me the reason they are fighting to begin with?. I have heard that the Palestinians are fighting for a section of land that was given to them through a promise in the Bible and Israel says it belongs to them..I have looked for a clear answer and haven't found one..Anybody?

A pretty good explanation of this complex situation is in this news article:
