Right! I read once that conspiracy theories are the result of people trying to figure out why the world is turning so crazy! They can't accept that a simple explanation can suffice, so they invent something 'behind the scenes' and out-of-sight, like a hidden "conspiracy" that's behind every big event. At least they call them "conspiracy theories," since they have no visible facts to back up what they're saying.

 

In the truth, though, we have a tendency not to "follow the crowd" about these theories. We already know the real truth about the outcome, and that keeps us reasonable.

Conspiracy theories and misinformation originate from Satan, (He used misinformation in Eden very successfully) 

His next move on the ground of misinformation was an establishment of false religion to confuse people about Jehovah.

He loves conspiracy theories as they derail truth about Jehovah.

When it first started, they called it the "theory" of evolution - a conspiracy theory for sure and definitely misinformation. But it has been repeated as fact for so long that now many people are convinced that creation is the theory. Yet we know creation is the truth.

 

That is why we need to keep clear of such conspiracy theories and misinformation - we want to make sure we don't start accepting such as facts and take us away from Jehovah and the truth.

Not all conspiracies are fake, though. We don't want to go to the other extreme and mock every theory as if it couldn't possibly be true; we just need to keep the bigger picture in mind and remember that Jehovah's Kingdom will solve all of the world's problems.

Side note: On the Norwegian version of jw.org, we use 'theory of evolution' – evolusjonsteorien. Lanaguage is power (power to define). Theory is all it will ever be.

Yes, let's look at something we could use as an example:

 

For many years the tobacco industry tried to hide the fact that smoking kills. They were able to exert pressure in WDC. Even to this day, even though they put a warning on their products, and it should be common knowledge that tobacco causes cancer and kills people - their product is still allowed to be legally sold.

 

However, since we, as JW's, don't use tobacco - why would we care about the fact that tobacco is still legal?

 

The same holds true of most of the conspiracies. They center around social, political and corporate matters dealing with this system. Since our hope is in the Kingdom, why would we care about matters that do not point towards the Kingdom? In relation to the Truth of the Bible and Jehovah's purpose, these conspiracies have no bearing and will not affect the outcome so why concern ourselves with them at all?

 

(Ecclesiastes 4:4) . . .And I myself have seen all the hard work and all the proficiency in work, that it means the rivalry of one toward another; this also is vanity and a striving after the wind.

Yes, that is why I said "they" called it not "we". Of course, we, as JW's, know evolution is only a theory that is unproven and false. It has never been and never will be fact since it is a lie.

Thank you; that is exactly it. Do institutions lie even if it kills people? Absolutely. Do we need to devote our lives to proving it? NO.

I found it curious that, when the government wanted to put the graphic warnings on cigarette packages, the tobacco companies never complained. They willingly let them do it with no disagreements. Why? With the warning there, all kinds of people can sue the tobacco companies because of the harmful affects of smoking. But those companies say they're immune from prosecution because the warning was there, and yet the buyer chose to continue smoking anyway. It's the smoker's fault, they say!

 

Yup. They are partially right. But they continue selling those harmful cancer sticks because they make money from others getting sick. The cigarette companies care only about raking in the cash rather than assisting others to quit.

 

This system absolutely has to go!

If look at them separately conspiracy is one thing and theory yet another (many theories are put forward, especially in a Scientific field) 

But when they are combined that's where the danger lurks.

Theory - The Ekpyrotic Universe Theory: This theory proposes that our universe is the result of a collision between two universes, resetting our universe and causing it to expand

 

Conspiracy Theory- The Great Reset: A theory that suggests the COVID-19 pandemic is being used as a pretext for a global elite to "reset" the world order, imposing a new, authoritarian system. (Conspiracy theories often are marked by extremely high level of speculation and sowing doubt)

Honestly, both scenarios sound just as baseless; it seems to be the action associated with a conspiracy theory that ultimately makes it dangerous or not.

When scientists speak of the theory of evolution they refer to this, not to the fact that is is unproven. But actually it is incorrect to refer to evolution as a scientific theory, since it doesn't fit most of the facts.

 

In common speech, however, a theory is an idea or an explanation that is not confirmed by any facts. That is where "conspiracy theories" come. They propose complex conspiracies but don't provide any proof.

Conspiracy theories often question the official narrative, allowing individuals to challenge authority Bible based, secular etc)  and express dissatisfaction with institutions.

Theories alone are often linked to other areas of life like Science. 

Therefore Conspiracy Theory has certain goal in mind and is very dangerous. (See Romans 13:1)

Some conspiracy theories aim to shape public opinion, influence policy decisions, or promote specific agendas. (Covid-19 is perfect example, but lets not go there)

The Epstein island affair was called a conspiracy theory by the media before it was exposed.

Same with the NSA mass surveillance, the Watergate scandal or the CIA-crack plot.

 

In fact every 20 years the CIA declassifies a document basically saying "You're right, we did it. What are you gonna do about it?"

Satan used a conspiracy theory on Eve it worked so well he keeps using it!  "Is it really so..."    No need for facts!   Conspiracy covers anything that scares you or gets under your skin now...
