Big wildfires in LA area

So, they moved all the way across country.  Away from the wildfire area to the Hurricane prone area.  Global warming is not only making the fires worse but also making hurricanes worse.

The Paradise fire was not caused by global warming but by PG&E (Pacific Gas & Electric) failing to clear vegetation around the power lines. How do I know this? The niece of one of my best friends (who is a sister) warned both the CEO and the State about this problem. No one listened to her. That CEO? He went on to head up Centerpoint Energy here in Houston. You know, the company that took months to get the power back on this last summer? You can’t blame everything on “global warming.” More like greed and incompetence.

Just before the Eaton fire, surveillance cameras and witnesses spotted arcing powerlines, according to this report

Steve, if you can find news reports about a company called Whisker Labs, maybe post it?   Whisker labs monitors the grid and is aware of every fault that happens.  A fault can be from a tree touching the power line, or the power lines swinging in the wind and smacking each other.

The spokesman from Whisker, Bob Marshall,  said there was a sharp increase in faults right before the Eaton, Palisades and Hurst fires.

Hopefully, I'll see them at the meeting tomorrow.

I went to look at the mobile home.  The tree broke at about 50 feet up. Even up there, it was about 20 inches across.  I can't believe that massive tree came crashing down onto three mobile homes at around 9:45 pm and no one was injured!  A dog was killed, poor thing.

Grandma and grandson were at the meeting.  Also, I learned that the CO got permission from the branch to make a shepherding call on the family even though he's serving another congregation this week.  Wasn't that loving?

"A report identified a surge in power grid faults preceding three Los Angeles wildfires. Using 14,000 sensors, it detected 63 faults near the Palisades fire, 317 near Eaton, and 230 near Hurst—far exceeding the daily average of 2–3 faults. Notably, 18 faults occurred during the hour the Palisades fire ignited."

Still, the question is, did the power faults cause the fire or did the fire cause the power faults - I would not be too quick to start pointing fingers

The dry season this winter season coupled with hurricane like strong winds were definitely a contributing factor to these fires spreading as big as they did. Power lines and/or Arson were probably the source of ignition most definetly.

I agree Global Warming is causing the climate to change and fueling these disasters for the worst.

"surge in power grid faults preceding three Los Angeles wildfires" I read that as the fires followed the faults.

Can we know 100%? No, but on probabilities of "63 faults near the Palisades fire, 317 near Eaton, and 230 near Hurst—far exceeding the daily average of 2–3 faultsI'd lay my money on the faults causing the fires.

Having experienced wildfires personally that we discovered before they were known to authorities - I don't assume anything as to their origin.

They were held accountable for the last fires in 2021, which held them liable for $$++. But would they have not done their due diligence since then?

Are these new fires connected to, or caused by the same incident around Palisades?

News claims which are saying California is becoming unliveable. I have to check with my distant relatives living around the State.

It’s my understanding the fire is not yet under control.  I assume there are several congregations in or near the area.
I hope all brothers and sisters are okay. ❤️ Does anyone have any recent information?
