"a swing and a miss" is typicaly a baseball term in the US meaning they missed the ball. 

 

here the preaching partner did not use tact or mildness in his presentation and thus was ineffective in his ministry. He "missed".

Many years ago, far far away. we had a young brother in our congregation that was especially articulate, intelligent, et. He gave wonderful parts on the podium. He became a regular pioneer and was made a Servant in short time.

One day in Service, we went to the door, and when the HH opened, he said, 'Babylon the Great has fallen! et et. No introduction, nothing.

I'm not sure if it was when we were leaving the Babylon tract at the time..I was working with him that morning and he said the same thing at every door..

I don't know or remember what happened after that but eventually he was not a servant or pioneer anymore..and finally at the end left the Truth. 😐 Sad because he had so much potential..

Pigs are great swimmers; they prefer water to mud. They also love drinking water, 3-5 gallons a day..just some trivia..

The reason they like mud is that pigs don't like sun burns anymore than we do, plus it keeps bugs away, just not Jerry

I am curious, how many commenting members have ever raised a pig or pigs? I like pigs, given choice pigs are very clean and very friendlyand  taste delicious, cured, smoked or otherwise.

Only as a child growing up on a farm/ranch did I help raise pigs.  Ours were not clean in everyday life as they loved the mire.  I also watched dad slaughter and butcher said. Now grandmother loved the pork rinds but I had a hard time getting past the hair left on.
