A couple weeks ago half of my congregation were testing positive. Most of my family has. Fortunately all of them had either mild symptoms or none at all.

I have to commute for work twice a week. That means spending a couple hours in a crowded bus twice a week. I use a FPP2 mask and so far I haven't caught it (or maybe I did but did not have any symptoms). But unless you live completely isolated, it's just a question of time that we all catch the virus. Omicron is the most contagious virus ever. More than the flu.

In the vast majority of cases it's not really a problem to catch Omicron if you have access to medical attention (and much less so if you are vaccinated). The problem is when millions get infected at the same time and hospitals are overcrowded or cannot accept more patients. That's the point of using masks and washing your hands and all the other measures: Don't become infected at the same time everyone else is.

My husband and I are trying very hard not to catch it.  We live in the anti-vax capital of Australia so there are many here that do not wear masks etc.  I don't need to work so only go out for food etc.  My husband works for himself in construction and his jobs are at private homes and he has very little contact with the household.  An ex-sister, who when she was in the truth was one of my very good friends has died with complications from covid.  She was an avid anti-vaxer so was not vaccinated.  She did however have underlying health issues.  She was only 54.  In our congregation of around 150 I think about 20 have had or currently have covid.  Yesterday we had our end of Service Year Pioneer meeting on Zoom.  Such a shame as we usually have a lovely get together afterward.

Well, so far I have continued to live in the house with two people infected at some point (my wife still shows as positive) for the past two weeks or so. My wife was pretty unwell the past few days and is now just tired.
Neither me or my older son have had a positive test yet. That’s taking the required daily tests. I have also had two pcr tests.

Me and Joe(13) must be special…. So far.😉

We already knew that, Mike. You are special for us. :)

Maybe you and Joe already had the virus without symptoms so you are immunized now. There are also some people who are simply immune by nature.

Thanks for that Carlos. Lol.

The possibility that we perhaps unknowingly had it the previous weeks has come to mind in more recent days.

what about inviting people to attend our meetings in kingdom halls ? Should we ask them if they are vaccinated beforer entering the kingdom halls ? is the re opening of all kingdom halls depending on the high rate of vaccianated jehovah's witnesses in all cities ?

Went looking for the thread on this but saw you'd already reached it. Long story short the GB gave direction based on local circumstances so different territory's had different requirements. So when, or if, we return to the Halls the GB will analyze the situation, pray intensely and give us the best recommendation for our territory's situation.

Let's wait and see what the Branch decides.

I kinda doubt this would be the case, since we do emphasize that your medical choices are personal. But, I could see requiring guests to wear a mask or being escorted out.

Isn't it only 2 years since the last rotation?  We have only just got a new CO, last visit, because our previous CO was called into the branch.

No, this is year 4.  The rotation was every 3 years but rotation was suspended due to Covid-19.

Now, it may have been 2 years ago for you due to some other circumstances.  Older COs age out and no longer qualify to serve based on age.  Others might get ill or have to go "off the road" due to some other personal circumstance.

Here in WA the Australasia branch has suspended in person meetings, due to the increasing cases. My congregation had already voluntarily stopped a while ago. Other congregations in Perth had been continuing with hybrid but now we are all back on zoom. 👍👍

A brother told us just this morning that his 2 very young grandsons, both under 5 years old, have tested positive.

I’m interested what they will say about Michigan.

i think I’ll stick with Zoom for a while.
