New York Wildfire

Recommended Posts

One of our sisters made a post about it yesterday,so I think it may be true,

But we don't have any update on the situation of things now.

The world headquarter is Jehovah's centre of worship on earth today,it is like the Jerusalem of Jehovah's witnesses,so I firmly believe that Jehovah will intervene to protect it very much.

I don't know if the picture is real, but there is indeed a big fire very close to headquarters.

Someone posted yesterday that the most vulnerable members of the Bethel family at Warwick were evacuated just in case.

Some news about the fire:

I thought there is a river that separates the facility from the woods,

But I don't know how extensively the river surrounds the facility 🤔

It's not a big river.

Warwick Bethel also sits on a lake. The fire helicopters are using the lake for water to fight the fire.

The area is a lot of woods. Lots and lots of trees.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

Since the area is surrounded by so much trees, that's going to be a lot of challenging during dry season when the trees get dry.

Enemies of our organization can begin to use wild fires to attack our facility literally, they may even make it to like a natural occurrence.

I think we may probably need to have our own  firecontrol department in Warwick headquarter with all the equipment and manpower for emergencies like this,

This already exists, if I recall correctly. In the past they have even been called upon to fight fires elsewhere in NY.

Unfortunately, most of the comments and images of the fire are buried in other topics.

One thing that I have learned about Jehovah's organization is that Jehovah is always a step ahead of us. When we see a need for something, the brothers are already one step ahead of us and have done it.

The brothers have a fully functioning fire department not only because of the safety for our brothers and sisters, I believe it was also required by the local government.

Isn't that Selters? It doesn't look like Warwick?

Yes, the article highlights how the organization has firefighting equipment and training at Bethel facilities.

Sorry, I should have explained that.

Yes, it's an historically known issue in this area:

FWIW I believe that around just 3 miles away from Warwick WHQ, in the Sterling Mountains, and at an elevation of 1,320 feet, there is a 60-foot-tall fire observation tower which was originally built in 1922.

60-foot-tall fire observation tower

Located at an elevation of 1,320 ft (400 m), the station includes a 60-foot-tall (18 m), steel-frame lookout tower erected in 1922 and an observer's cabin built about 1934. The tower is a prefabricated structure provided a front line of defense in preserving the Ramapo Mountains from the hazards of forest fires.

Scientists have discovered that daydreaming is an important tool for creativity. It causes a rush of activity in a circuit, which connects different parts of the brain and allows the mind to make new associations.

And apparently the current Jennings Creek Fire was first spotted via a fire tower....

Fire towers are the eyes in the sky

Though officials say air reconnaissance is a massive help, the fire was nonetheless first spotted Friday by traditional means — a fire tower

Wednesday update from friends at Warwick……”there are actually five wildfires burning within a mile from Warwick. The friends, older and those with respiratory issues, have been moved to other facilities.   Helicopters are constantly getting water from the lake and pouring it on the fires.  Emergency agencies have drones looking for hotspots.  No evacuation notice yet.
Yesterday was a very windy day and you couldn't see the fire for all the smoke! ALL TOURS HAVE BEEN CANCELED”

Back in the 1960's my brother used to man a fire tower here in Florida.

Wallkill also has a NY State Certified fire department - and, yes, they are sometimes called upon to fight fires in the community. We had a brother in our congregation a few years ago who used to be on the Wallkill fire department when he was serving there.

The three dots in the lower right hand corner gave me an option to download and it worked for me.

That never works for me in the Apple world. It only gives me playback speeds. 🤷🏻‍♀️
