No Internet at all for anyone would be the equivalent of a financial destruction - as most financial transactions are done electronically. And as there isn't anything in the scriptures about no one able buy or sell during the GT - instead there is only the limitation that a person will need the mark of the beast and then they CAN buy and sell.

Lol anyway, I remember a video mentioning about "The Good News According to Jesus" video series will even benefit those resurrected in paradise... So we will need to be able to use technology to play those videos somehow, going by that line of thinking. We as humans are short sighted, even in the photodrama of creation, there is a grandpa car in paradise, but I don't picture that happening now.. Do you?

Who needs the internet when the creator answers prayers .. it is his great tribulation… it is his people .. it is his judgement period ..I will take that over server farms still being miraculously  powered.Think what angel means “messenger” pretty important job for a heavenly information service.

Jehovahs internet knows how each animal and sparrow is doing … pretty comprehensive in my opinion.

He can also write things on walls not as graffiti but as a wake up call..

Sorry I didn't read the topic properly. I thought this was for the new world lol. I think there will be for the great tribulation, at least during the start of it.

Why wouldn't there be internet?

If the entire world was in a total blackout, there wouldn't be an Internet as we know it, but for Gog of Magog to organize an attack against Jehovah's organization, there must be some forms of local and international communication.

That would be an interesting difficulty to be cut off.

But Jehovah will always be there so everything will be fine.

But on a more serious note; I wouldn’t be surprised if we had significant communication difficulties.

 

For example, we could be cut off not only from the branch and the slave, but also from JW library if Apple Store and Google Play decide not to feature our app. I keep a hard copy of the Bible in my apartment just in case.

 

If you notice in the basement video, all of them have hard copies of the Bible. Not one of them are carrying phones.

 

The secular authorities can easily trace one’s cell phone, thru the information fed from a specific phone to the nearest cell tower. We might be ordered by the brothers to stop using our cells to make it harder for the enemy to find us during the final all-out attack.

 

By that time, upheaval, the likes of which mankind has never experienced before will be happening all over the earth on an unprecedented scale never seen before.

 

So it is not only possible, but plausible.

I was thinking of the same video.  All of the reports that came in were hand-delivered, written notes.

I feel like it would be the easiest of work for Jehovah to allow His people clear, quick, global communications, regardless of how things might work for the rest of the world. There has never been a time in history where information can be distributed nearly immediately to the entire planet. Of course, Jehovah could blast info from the heavens like the olden days... but why not a specially secure "spiritual intranet" for the Governing Body/ Bethels to communicate instructions to the rest of us (or at least the brothers in charge)? Who could stop that?

 

I can't see any satellite failure, electricity outage, app removals, cell tower tracking, etc., thwarting Jehovah's means of getting things done. Hard copies of things will have value for sure - but millions of us may not even have such supplies anymore. Having brothers as couriers to hand-deliver messages seems inefficient and possibly dangerous, depending on what's going on out there. Naturally, Jehovah has it all worked out perfectly and we'll have to wait and see. But we've come to see our very timely communications as lifesaving at time - why lose it?

Whether we have internet or not, we will follow the guidelines of the governing body, they will certainly think about everything with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

As you noted, mobile phone can be traced and tracked.
It would be interesting to see how the internet would be shut down, as the core reason for it being built in the first place was to enable communication in the event of communication breakdown. Lol

Wrapping the phones in aluminum foil could prevent tracking. If turned on and used quickly, they could still be useful and remain hard to track.

 

Additionally, the OP question was about the Internet, not the cell phone system. Cell phones are not required to use the Internet.

Good point. 95% of my internet use is via my mobile ('cell phone' in American 'handy' in EU') while I am mobile... only recently do I have now a fixed point after decades without...

My longest cat 5 cable is about 20 meters (65 feet).

So my mind went elsewhere.

During the 10 plagues, Jehovah made a distinction between the Egyptians and the Israelites.  At some point maybe we will have blue sky when they have hail or “light” when they are “dark”.  Could that be the light of cell service and internet?  Only time will tell 😜

Plus there will be a Black market internet, cryptocurrencies and electric 💡 power. There's many ways to generate electricity and many ways use to back door ways to get onto the internet. Remember the hacker group know as "Anonymous".
