Hey I didn't notice if anyone has brought this up or not yet but if you have a TV which has built in internet access you just have to put in http://tv.jw.org on the address bar and you will be delivered right to the site without a Roku device. I have a button on my remote which allows me to enter in a favorite site and in the morning the first channel I look at for my news for the day is our Broadcasting TV site. That gives me my good news for the day before I delve into the bad news that is so depressing.

Don't get me wrong, in this world bad news is good news for us as it reminds us we have just gotten one day closer to our new world where there won't be anything but new good news, 24/7.

Question: once on tv.jw.org on your smart tv, can you then select the channel to "Stream" and or "On Demand" Video"? In other words do you have the same options as if you were viewing from a computer?

Yes with the browser on my TV, it is exactly the same as accessing it from my computer.

If you have a data plan... can this take up a lot more than you are used to using? Yikes! all of a sudden I am at 90% of my allowance with eight days left on my month. Hubby not happy!

Sounds like my wife. We have used 78 Gigabytes 1st week of October. She like to stream in HD which really uses up the Gb's.:shrugs::oops: We only have 300 Gb a month limit.

Consciousness, that annoying time between naps!

Good question, me either.

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.

Most "Smart TV's" that are connected to the Internet have "Web browsers" as an app. So you use that with the virtual keyboard that you use with your remote. Some do not have Web browsers. I know that most Vizios do not.

and if all else fails, read the directions.  :)

LOL @ Lynn...but I would rather ask YOU. :D:wub:

Everyone is untitled to one mistake in their life. That was yours.

Every time I try to figure something out myself and look for the owners manual, I can't find it. I end up searching the internet to download a PDF file. Not good if the wife can't watch her favorite TV program or food is thawing in the freezer.

I admire your effort of translating, brother Joao. I wih I could do that in Japanese.

But I am sorry that I am very poor at handling PC or tablets.

For the moment by myself I enjoy watching JW Broadcasting.  Attending an

annual meeting has been my dream, which, I know, will never been realized.

But watching this program, I feel my dream had come true. On the 100th

anniversary of God's kingdom, this may be a big present from the king Jesus.

After the first subtitle is done it can be easily translated to any other language by anyone with the knowledge of the language. No need to be a tech savvy ;)

Normally I use Firefox, but I tried the website using IE.  I noticed that with IE, I could play the videos in 720p.  Also on the control bar is the resolution settings option, which is missing when playing a video using Firefox.  This may be a Firefox bug.

Thanks.  I could get the links for 240, 360 and 480p, but no matter what I tried before, could not download in 720p.  Downloading now!

If you download a low resolution for your iPhone or iPad and then wirelessly "Airplay" it to your TV will it have an adverse low quality effect on your larger 40" + screen?

My wife and I enjoy JW Broadcasting and watching it our wide-screen TV. We don't use a Roku box, we use a usb cable costing about two English pounds.

By conecting one end to the HDMI socket on my laptop and the other end to the TV, everything visible on the laptop monitor screen is displayed on the TV. After going to JW Broadcasting and selecting the content we want to enjoy, we sit back and watch and listen on the TV.

Bonus is that anything we can see on the laptop is displayed on the TV. So much cheaper than a Roku box. No need for the expensive HDMI cables - just get a cheap cable from say Amazon for a small price and enjoy the high quality vision and sound of JW Broadcasting on your TV.

If your tablet has a mini type HDMI socket you can get cheap cables with a mini type HDMI plug on one end.
