Pray for our young brothers and sisters that their faith do not give out!

From article :

Most worrisome to many Witnesses are the recent instances in which schoolteachers, principals and police have turned on children.

Our young ones have provided a fine witness through out the Earth and it will continue because they are blest. :)

Anyone have hints on keeping pictures vertical? Is this a problem with Tapatalk? Does it show up in the preview as correct? Just curious. :S

I wonder if there will be a letter campaign.  Any opinions on whether or not we will write letters?

It's not like the letters helped the first time around but I can't help but wonder if they haven't been forwarded to the appeals court.  Perhaps they will help after all with this next court.

Bad news again. Brothers and sisters lose their jobs. I am afraid some people really believe JWs are terrorists.

That is so very sad to read, my dear sister.  Only our Heavenly Father will rectify this, and we know he is seeing you and your fellow brothers and sisters in Russia keeping your integrity.  I am very proud to say I am your sister and a fellow servant of Jehovah our loving God.

Many of our radio and TV stations have stated that as they get near to the General Election, they are no longer allowed to broadcast any more political news, so some, like Today BBC radio 4 (that had the good little 'thought for the day' item about our Russian brother's light a few weeks ago featured on here), are asking the public to let them know about important topics that have not had much coverage lately because of all the distraction of the election & terrorism.

Now we have had letters to the congregation from the Organisation to not  send letters or news items about our organisation, on any subject, without authorisation to media outlets, so I wouldn't do that, but what was reported on JW-russia and forum 18 and other newspapers abroad, were hardly covered in this country because of the election and terrorist attacks, so if anyone (eg brother with more authority than myself) on here - who thinks this may be a good idea & knows how to contact someone in the organisation that could perhaps contact say BBC Radio 4 and just give them the links to the press releases and, also that it's not just about us - many in the media don't care about us - that it's in the interest of everyone by showing, by quotations, that other faiths and none - Nationalist organisations worry that whatever happens to us, that they could be next and big organisations such as the United Nations and European Courts agree that it is in the interest of the World what happens to us.

Russia is getting more aggressive generally. We have regular news reports of war-planes, ships and submarines of Russia's sailing into waters and air-space of other countries, sometimes with little warning or reason and having to be watched and escorted by whatever country's planes, boats through their waters/air. Russian government has made it obvious they are trying to take back all countries they regard as their old historic territories, whether or not those areas have democratically voted not to be Communist/Soviet.

Despite United Nations agreements for the division of the Arctic between 5 countries, Russia sent submarines with titatnium flags to claim a large section of the Arctic off the 5 other countries as theirs because they claim it's on the same geological Continental shelf as Siberia and is for Russia - Most experts know it's because the Arctic is sitting on vast oil fields that Russia wants to add to it's Gazprom portfolio to control to make more countries dependent on them for gas and oil - like they did when they cut off Ukraine's fuel supplies a few years ago.

Then there's the mysterious deaths of wealthy Russians who have sought asylum in other countries because they fear their assets being seized and their lives taken because they are out of favour for various reasons with the Russian Government.

Most People are so wrapped up in their own lives and neighbourhoods, they still think that the 'Cold War' is over with Russia and we have nothing to fear because they personally are not affected, but do not realise Russia is on such an aggressive strategy to be the best superpower.

Rightly or wrongly, many news commentators here feel that Russia's bombing of Syria serves Russia on many fronts. It helps their ally, Mr Assad, to bomb his rebel enemies. They can claim to be bombing ISIS to placate the West, while actually bombing many civilian areas as 'collateral damage' to scare thousands more to fleeing West. Thousands of fleeing people in any little boats landing on European Mediterranean countries that  are already suffering economic austerity - de-stablize their countries - has been called 'Putin's Weapons of Mass Migration' in newspapers across Europe because these countries' strained infrastructures cannot cope with so many poor desperate people. They already have so many asylum seekers, beyond what they can cope with, from other war-torn areas of North Africa and the Middle East.

I fear that what is happening to our brothers is part of a bigger plan of the Russian Government and people of the World are so wrapped up with their own lives/countries, they are mostly unaware and need to be woken up. Acting for us because of a realisation of other issues with Russia may be a good wake up call to a bigger picture of what is really going on as we gather to the 'end scenario' for this System.

I'm a little confused about what you are trying to say here, are you suggesting that someone contact the Branch and tell them the press releases about the brothers aren't getting enough coverage on main stream media?

Sort of- As I stated in my thread the media such as BBC Radio 4 were asking the public for items of News that weren't about the country's politics    for election time when they can't report on the political parties. They wanted other important issues haven't been covered lately because of the elections and terrorism. So I was asking if someone at the Branch could take them up on the offer.

There's been so little media coverage here about the events in Russia, I wondered if the Branch might like to send the BBC the links discussing the above to see if they could give some coverage about the plight of our Russian brothers (jw-russia trial) in the light of a bigger picture of the threat to everyone's freedoms there and the interviews by European representatives and United Nations reporters and Human Rights sites.  I am not authorised to do that, so wouldn't do it myself. The only public coverage  I've seen here was that 'Thought of the Day' item by a clergyman one early morning on BBC radio. BBC website did do a small item, but I doubt many would see that unless they were looking for it, nothing was mentioned on TV or in actual UK newspapers thanks to the 2 London terrorist  attacks and Manchester and the political debates.

I assume the brothers are fully aware of that however I wouldn't think there would be any problem if you used the Public Relations contact information on JW.org and notified the brothers that your local news agencies are looking for news items...

I tried to visit the website for the BBC News programs and despite the announcement of ' news item suggestions' by John Humphries on Britain's news program in the morning, there was nothing on their social media sites or website as a follw up to what he said regarding how to get these news items there before the election, only the usual contact address: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/39710394   but I will consider the suggestion - though I feel if it came from an elder it may carry more weight.

I do feel the BBC just see this subject as 'a little far away  problem with those 'tiresome doorstep Bible bashers', but if it could be put to them that it has been noticed by bigger outside authorities like the UN and ECHR  & could affect more than us, then it may get more coverage.

We are encouraged to direct anyone and everyone to JW.org so I wouldn't think there would be a problem if you shared the public press release link on jw.org with the news agency.

Thanks for the update. More prayers.

Dear Victoria, I am so sad to hear about what the brothers and sisters are facing there. Do you know any brothers and sisters personally who are now out of work? Are you and your husband still working?

The situation there is really bad, especially about people thinking you are terrorists. It's similar to what one police officer said to a school child. The officer and a plain clothed man "talked to the girl about how her mother forces her to go to a 'terrorist organisation' in which 'they are robbed' and 'are taught to kill people'". It's just sickening how they even twist what the court decided; that Jehovah's Witnesses are not guilt of any violent crimes.

Our hearts go out to you, dear Victoria, as you and your husband try to cope with indignities around you. I wish we could all give you a big hug to show you how much we care about you!

Love from your brother in Canada, Eric

I've done that this morning. Just gave them the link straight to Jw.org news section on Russia and hope for the best.

That is a fair question Brigette, but the friends there are dealing with a sustained corrupt system where the state proceedings have ALL the markings and trappings of a kangaroo court!  (We have now seen the evidence for ourselves).  Besides, I would think the RF would not want the whole world to know just "how bad" the injustices exist in that country.

Funny though, just yesterday I was reviewing once again the video "WTBTS vs. Village of Stratton".  The Supreme Court seemed to be on our side showing greater respect to our brothers than the Stratton officials.  What a stark contrast!

It was in our God's Kingdom Rules book at the beginning of the chapter we are now reading.  It gives the actual name of the court case, you could find it from that I suppose.

"When two sisters from a Jehovah's Witness family in Pizhanka District, Kirov Region, refused to sing a song about war, their class teacher told them: "You are now banned and we are already fed up with your religion". Later, she said to their mother: "You are now extremists and there will be no indulgence".

Blatant discrimination based on one's religion, or anything else for that matter, isn't tolerated one iota by government officials, state agencies, and employers, including school districts here in the U. S. The fact that this teacher could talk this way to a student and her mother, shows a complete disregard for their civil rights and freedom of religion, which apparently is non-existent for the time being. If a teacher spoke that way here, she would be fired in a heartbeat and probably subject to a lawsuit including a fine and possible imprisonment. What a contrast indeed!
