With how slow June and July were with Hurricanes, this report from Aug 15th is warning us in the next six weeks there may be a train of Hurricanes coming. Calling it a season within a season.

Hurricane Dorian looks to be a real threat, current forecast calls for a Category 3 Hurricane to hit near Kennedy Space Center. A landfall remains possible from North Miami and Jacksonville. Durian now seems more likely than not to reemerge in the Eastern Gulf of Mexico and eventually turn North and perhaps making a second landfall anywhere from the Florida Panhandle to Southeastern Louisiana.

I heard today it will be a category 4 by he time it hits landfall (I know they usually slow down after the hit land) but I'm hoping their predictions that it could be the worse hurricane in the last 3 decades DOES not prove true.  (Hurricane Andrew was 20 or 25 years ago wasn't it?)  That one was pretty bad, hope it's nothing like that.

Don't live for the moment - live for the future! :D

Latest update .

The NOAA track keeps bending a little south, placing the centre of the track very close to West Palm Beach. The more south it bends the worse the impact will be as it landfalls somewhere between West Palm Beach and Miami.

Key Messages:

1. Life-threatening storm surge and devastating hurricane-force
winds are likely in portions of the northwestern Bahamas, where a
hurricane warning is in effect. Residents should execute their
hurricane plan and listen to advice given by local emergency
officials.

2. Life-threatening storm surge and devastating hurricane-force
winds are likely along portions of the Florida east coast by early
next week, but since Dorian is forecast to slow down and turn
northward near the coast, it is too soon to determine when or where
the highest surge and winds will occur. Residents should have their
hurricane plan in place, know if they are in a hurricane evacuation
zone, and listen to advice given by local emergency officials.

3. A prolonged period of storm surge, high winds and rainfall is
possible in portions of Florida into next week, including the
possibility of hurricane-force winds over inland portions of the
Florida peninsula.

4. Heavy rains, capable of life-threatening flash floods, are
expected over portions of the Bahamas and coastal sections of the
southeastern United States this weekend through much of next week.

I think what is happening is that while Hurricane Dorian is gaining strength in the warmer ocean waters(went from CAT 2 to CAT 4 very quickly), there are other external pressures causing the Hurricane to slow down, not the wind speeds which are becoming faster, but slowing down in it's progress toward FL. And the major problem with this is that if by the time it hits FL it is only just crawling or stalls while partly over the FL, the longer more and more rain will fall on those areas causing severe flooding, maybe catastrophic. It would be better if the Hurricane just went quickly through the state instead. :(

I hope that somehow Dorian turns back toward the ocean.

They are now leaning towards it riding the coastline north and making landfall in the Carolinas ...

In the meantime, we just wait to see what it actually does

Yes..many prayers for Jehovah to "act with style"!! I believe he answered many of our prayers! This is a screenshot from my hurricane app..the red line represents the consensus of a reliable projection of the path of Dorian posted yesterday morning. As the day progressed to nightime, Dorian sertled into the Gulfstream path because 2 steering influences weakened! Thank you Jehovah! Also, my go bag and evacuation plans are now better tweeked..emergency radio fully charged too!!:D

As Sunray mentioned, models now look like it wont make landfall but will slide slowly up the coast. But it doesn’t mean that it wont either as Qapla suggested, will have to wait and see.

I want to say that this is from my weather app..as John said, we have to wait and see if this projection materializes..Keep praying!! Also, the comment I made about the Gulf stream is in axcordance with the projection, if the steering systems stay in place..Dorian is far from that area now..headed for Bahamas!  We are keeping our hotel reservations for now..supposed to be a Cat 3 when it passes our area..hopefully far east!!😎

Even if it does take this new projected path - it will impact my wife and I in other ways ...

We are supposed to catch the train out of Florida next Saturday to go to NC ... and now, the new track for Dorian is headed right where we are headed :(

Please be careful John. It sounds like a lot of people on the coast are in for a rough time. I hope not but it looks that way.

With the rainfall predicted in the area Vernalee lives, it looks like Grumpy's garden is going to be flooded again. Stay safe all !!!!!

We will probably only get rain but it has rained so much lately that the ground is saturated.

An elder from another close congregation recently moved to Lakeland Florida. His wife’s health just couldn’t take the winters here anymore.

Anyway, worried about them 😬

Everyone in Florida and any other state with even a little threat of Dorian please be safe. ♥️
