Yesterday my return visit texted me to let me know that he has covid. I told him to get better and use any medications that he qualifies for. I also told him that I'll be praying for him and quoted the scripture that says no man will say I am sick. I think that counts as a return v... oh wait...😂😜

I'm so serious about this but service was so relaxing today. I knew the affect on my service group was always going to be positive but I didn't think so soon.

There will be an increase in field activity in the coming months. The adjustment can only have a positive effect.

I'm really interested in seeing how many inactive ones choose to report they have shared in some form of ministry during the month.

Hopefully, many will be moved to resume activity in November if not this month. Jehovah is calling all. I can almost hear him saying: "this is your chance to show me there's still some of that flame smoldering somewhere..."

I am looking forward to the Annual meeting release on JW Broadcast. Way too much speculation. Know a couple of people who claim they are in the know and I never trust these sources. The official source on information is through the Watchtower and announcements from the branch you are in. I know a missionary couple that were invited to the annual meeting, and they are not talking about the announcement. Just it is a positive announcement, and our friends are enjoying the ministry more as a result. We will people conscience not time conscience.

Yes, but like a fine meal with friends, the guests enjoy talking about the aroma and how good the meal will taste when it is served.

Well one person told me that they will now come off the pioneer list now that publishers won't need to put their hours down but that's been for some time. Not sure if that is positive. I think that experience is few and it's mostly neutral.

I'll add one person decided to auxiliary pioneer in order to report their time. That's an interesting positive.

All the same more people are out...

Please, don't narrow your anticipation of our coming broadcast to a comment about our field service slips.  They did not spend and hour and 10 minutes talking about the "check mark" on a field service report.  Much information to come.  Widen out your expectations and don't overly focus on one little change...❤️

So... am I really all that interested in hearing this broadcast and the explanation about why we are making the change? Not a lot. In fact, I haven't even been following this topic and all the chatter over it. Over the years since I was baptized (1985) I have accurately recorded all my hours and placements on my service report, but only because Jehovah's organization wanted me to. I couldn't really see why we were doing it. The brother who studied with me had said that the numbers were helpful to the brothers' planning on how many copies of the magazines to print. But he said that if it wasn't for the worldwide reports and the encouragement we get from the number of hours spent in the ministry and the number of magazines placed, he said the reports were not necessary. I even remember him saying it's not Biblical! (Maybe that's why I have been following his mindset.)

Nevertheless, i appreciate John's reminder:

I think the attested record of what we accomplished gives a solid basis for our claim that Jehovah's Witnesses were fulfilling the aspect of the sign of the last days: "And this good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come" Matt.24:14.

After all, there was an abundance of statistical evidence stacked up for other aspects of the sign. Why not the preaching activity too?

But Paul had an interesting comment about his day "...not being shifted away from the hope of that good news that you heard and that was preached in all creation under heaven." Coll.1:23 He was able to say that 9 years BEFORE the end of the Jewish system. So r, how much more statistical evidence is really needed of our having fulfilled the preaching work aspect of the sign in our day?

We did it as instructed for a reason. The job has been done. So the reason no longer exists.  😊

Widen out your expectations

I expect new instructions to preach

And what to focus on the ministry (more Bible studies and less publications which has been a trend lately)

I expect new instructions for the middle week meeting part on ministry (talks introductions visit calls)

I expect an update on Organized book because so much is now not updated

i expect us to preach more informaly to our neighbors friends and family.

And I expect to be surprised with more to come that I totally don’t expect 😂

Stuff like that would outweigh a check mark on a field service report.  But they might be linked...❤️

Many, many years ago (over 20 years), whilst on a camping witnessing trip, a group of us brothers and sisters were talking about reporting hours, placements, how monthly reports gauge whether a brother can be appointed etc. Then the subject slightly touched on what may happen in the New World in regards to the work that may be there.

As a joke, I put it out there that we may not have to report our ministry in the New World because we will no be longer preaching, but only teaching, especially with the resurrected ones, and how we will be mainly conducting Bible Studies with these ones. We will not have to be actively seeking these ones out, thus not needing to report the hours in the ministry, but we may be delegated in assisting these ones with New Scrolls etc. So in regards to any reporting, it may be done away with in the sense of numbers, but we may have a different reporting regime such as how the study may be progressing, and possibly helping them with any issues that they may be dealing with. There will no longet be concerned about how many hours we do, but more on our getting to reach their heart, similar to how we train and educate our children, when we walk in the road, when we work with them and also when we are relaxing and eating, even though we may have specific designated times for studying with them and as possibly congregations meetings as well in the New World.

At the time, many there thought we will be still be reporting hours and such in the New World and that my vision was too far out there, but some others did think that it is possible that may be the case of no more reporting as we have done in the past. Maybe it can be making some of that adjustments now, because we are still monitoring studies being conducted.

I had a brother and sister pop in this morning from a cong down South. They have been told 2 things, one by their CO who's visit they had last week and one by some friends who attended the AM.

I can remember what they said they were told - but I can't remember who said what. But these are the two things:

Edited so as not to reveal confidential info.

I would think Proverbs 11:13 would apply if this was the case.

"A shrewd man conceals what he knows,

But the heart of the fool blurts out his foolishness."

If this did happen the Elder would not be a trustworthy man. Not really appropriate for this venue.

Thank you to the mods for editing my comment. I was unaware of the nature of the information and asked the question  innocently.

I'm so sorry.

Don't give up .. it's just around the corner.

Glad you are considering it.
