I think it is page 740 - not 710

That would fit closer to the font and paging - close to Ps 34 or 35 - rather than super small font that gets us there 30 pages sooner. Just my opinion. It is really hard to tell as it looks a little blurry.

Plan ahead as if Armageddon will not come in your lifetime, but lead your life as if it will come tomorrow (w 2004 Dec. 1 page 29)

Soon .....

Many brothers get their reference bible professionally rebound -some witness bussinesses do this- it is not cheap. I have seen various coloured covers and the moltted pages -even lately by some giving talks at our hall.

Consciousness, that annoying time between naps!

I too am hearing the rumors of a new bible released at the Annual Meeting.  Our COBOE did say after informing the congregation about the Annual Meeting,  "exciting things will be happening during the next service year"

Not sure what he meant by that, he does go to Bethel several times a year for stuff, don't know what for.

My nephew by marriage is at Bethel, but he is not saying anything.

Zeph 3:17 Jehovah your God is in the midst of you. As a mighty One, he will save. He will exult over you with rejoicing. He will become silent in his love. He will be joyful over you with happy cries....... Love it....a beautiful word picture.

I have heard the 'shortage' is simply because there are many congregations that have a large surplus this is millions of dollars of inventory not being used. The Literature Overseer can login to jw.org and may see nearby congregations with a stockpile. I found a congregation in our circuit that has over 50! A quick email got a reply they are happy to share 10 with us. 2 Cor. 8:14

I have a reference bible that is marked to the most extreme degree with underlines, highlights, and my own margin notes.

I don't know how old my reference Bible is - but it is written into in the extreme.

Everytime a point if made on a scripture, or a definition of a word - it goes in.

New light on a scripture - it's written in.

And the cover - don't pass this around - is Eyore.

I can find any scripture in my reference Bible and absolutely LOVE going through it.

I know I'm just a kid and may never grow up.

But, that's what I am.

Oh... :(

There goes the expectation to the ground...

I was comparing to the pdf version from the site which isn't, clearly, the big reference bible...

Thanks for that photo ;)

I hope we each get one of the new reference Bibles at the Annual Meeting!

I don't think that will be logistically possible.  At least, not for everyone tied in worldwide.  New publications would have to be printed and shipped NOW in order to be ready for the Oct. Annual meeting.  We'd be seeing boxes and boxes show up at those various Kingdom Halls.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

I had requested a soft cover Bible, quite some time ago. Brother in charge, said there wasn't much chance I would get one soon. My present copy is so worn looking, I am almost ashamed to use it in service. Could haul around my reference copy, couldn't I?   lol  Who knows, it may come to that. So, we shall carry on, as if there isn't a shortage, as I should.

I rather imagine the move North, for the Society, has a huge bearing on my complaint, but also realize that Jerhovah has a tight hold on the reins, and our destination is assured.

And those boxes would be noticeble at the Halls too.

They might just announce it at the annual meeting and then real copies of the bible might be available later on at the Kingdom Halls.

I still don't think there will be a new bible. Some changes have been made in the latest printing already. What changes could be so big that they stop shipping bibles for 6+ months?

Maybe a previous poster was right and they're just trying to get us to use the stock that is there in various Kingdom Halls. But in that case I would be surprised that the elders weren't informed in official letters and then the congregations after that. We never received an announcement to return extra bibles ro the hall. Some did because it makes sense to do that.

The whole situation doesn't make sense.

I hope we'll find out soon.

Our patience is really being tested lol.

The new smaller size ref bible might be announced at Annual meeting but as not everyone can attend, invites only it would be unlikely to be released ie available then. More likely to be distributed later thru congregation.

Much emphasise on using ref bible in past few months would suggest such being released as smaller edition as many find normal one to heavy to handle.

Either way best not to get ahead of ourselves but wait patiently...................I am not a doctor so have NO PATIENCE...............

Watch-out !!!! Monkey-Wrench Coming!!!

****************************** This is NOT official .... just the musings of a wondering mind ********************************

Perhaps, it is not a "New Bible" that we are to receive ..... perhaps it will be "permission" to start using an "electronic Bible" the same as we now use the paper one. Perhaps they feel, once announced, there will be less need for paper ones - thus less being produced and the monies used elsewhere.

************************************************************************************************************************************************

Just thought I'd throw a monkey-wrench into the works.
