These are the girls. I have 17 but am thinking of selling a few on craigslist. We are getting a little crowded. We do have a fenced run.

A beautiful healthy looking bunch .. or is that flock. ;) One of the things I'm looking forward to in the new system is having some chickens again .. Jehovah permitting. I live in a dolls house on a postage stamp and don't have the room.  Plus I have animal hating neighbours and nazi councils, so even if I had the room I would probably be well limited.

Terri, come live with me. I have lots of room and a garden. We can put chickens in the garden area....it's all fenced. A chicken coop is easy...

Last summer I found someone who was going to burn a pile of barn boards if I didn't haul them off. So far I have 2 gates made from them. Now I have these 2 things we did tonight. Not bad for free. I love free.

 

This is next to our front door. I think it looks crooked but it's actually level. Probably because of the crooked top edge which is the character of the board. The 2 signs are from a local 2nd hand store and the bottom rusty art is from my MIL. Been wanting to do this all summer.

 

Then I had a 10 foot long board that was splitting length wise down the center so I couldn't use it for just anything. I was needing a place to hang my garden tools during the summer so I thought of this. Again for free....well the cost of stainless 2' screws, but free anyway. Did I mention I love FREE?
