Russia-- in all of its' arrogance-- has "thumbed her nose" at Jehovah.  Is it reasonable to conclude that they will respect any decision by the ECHR?

Depends who they view as a threat. They thumb their noses as Jehovah because they do not believe in his existence.

The Daily Caller is an American news and opinion website based in Washington, D.C.
It was founded by Tucker Carlson, a Libertarian conservative political pundit, and Neil
Patel, former adviser to former Vice President Dick Cheney...it was established - January 11, 2010.
The Daily Caller is a reputable news site  and has absolutely nothing to do with..."fake news."
The sites originator...Tucker Carlson...has a nightly one hour show...called The Tucker Show...
on Fox News at 6 p.m. eastern time.
Thanks for confirming site is legit... But the content of the article is very intriguing for I didn't hear anything about the French Government "colluding"" with ROC, with Putin's approval to ban JWs.... Tangled web!?

WHAT DOES TRUMP THINK ABOUT PUTIN’S WAR ON RELIGION?

In a number of cases the courts, relying on poorly and unprofessionally conducted evaluations, concluded that Jehovah’s Witnesses’ literature could be defined as “extremist,” referring as it did to the faith as the only true faith.

Many assume that the suppression of religious dissent automatically benefits the ROC. But that is not necessarily the case. Representatives of the Moscow Patriarchate are torn by irreconcilable contradictions.

On the one hand, there are those who would like to prohibit all sects legislatively and in that way eliminate all competitors. (They are particularly troubled by the evangelicals in the Far East, who at this point exceed the number of the Orthodox.)

On the other hand, many experts note that as soon as the word “sect” is introduced into the law, half the Orthodox communities could be prohibited. Rank-and-file priests and believers have stated that the anti-missionary statutes of the Yarovaya Law could also be used to prevent Orthodox sermons and missions among youth.

I did not see Trump's comments about us, only a general summation report..

We watch Tucker Carlson on Fox News here in UK and generally find him to be a fairly good investigative reporter. The Daily Caller Article, by his colleague Joshua Gill does seem to fit the description in Wikipaedia of FECRIS.

Hope it's OK to cut and paste important bits of the article onto here to show what the article reveals that would identify the source/enemy driving the Russian authorities - and likely other countries as time goes on (and prophecies get fulfilled):

 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Federation_of_Centres_of_Research_and_Information_on_Sectarianism

" As of 2003 the government of France provided funding to the organization. In March 2005, the Council of Europe's Standing Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly granted FECRIS advisory status. In 2009, FECRIS was granted "ECOSOC Special Consultative Status" by the United Nations. "

" In 2014 participant organization of European Fundamental Rights Platform, the European Coordination of Associations and Individuals for Freedom of Conscience created report about how FECRIS describes itself and what its representatives really say and do. Concluded, that "activities of FECRIS constitute a contravention of the principles of respect and tolerance of beliefs" and "it is in direct opposition to the principles of the European Convention on Human Rights and other international human rights instruments".

"A 2012 special issue of Religion – Staat – Gesellschaft: Zeitschrift für Glaubensformen und Weltanschauungen ("Journal for the Study of Beliefs and Worldviews") was devoted to a case study of FECRIS; under the heading "Freedom of Religion or Belief: Anti-Sect Movements and State Neutrality" it collected six essays and a conclusion (by Willy Fautré, member of the International Consortium for Law and Religion Studies). Five of the essays discussed the activities of FECRIS in various countries (France, Russia, Austria, Germany, and Serbia). According to Regis Dericquebourg FECRIS pathologizes and criminalizes members of religious minorities, and falsely assigns "sect" status to religious minorities."

" According to attorney at law Patricia Duval, analysis of FECRIS activities shows that anti-sect affiliates in France characterize any minority religious or spiritual movement as "sectarian", consider conversion to them as "infridgement of human dignity", collect negative messages from family members who disagree with conversion, compile files based on unverified rumors used later to stigmatize movements, and receive financial support from French public institutions, placing in doubt the French government's neutrality regarding religious freedom.

In his conclusion Fautré notes that FECRIS has remarkable associates in the various European countries: though they are founded on French secularism, they are associated in Russia with hard-line Orthodox clergy, and in Austria and Germany with the Catholic and Lutheran churches, "which desperately try to slow down the erosion of their membership and to keep their dominant position in society". The research proved, according to Fautré, that FECRIS and its associates deny freedom of religion, pressure parents of converts to new religious movements and impede the freedom to organize by such organizations, discriminate against new religious movements and stigmatize them through the media, spread rumors and lies, and focus only on smaller religious groups, not on larger institutionalized churches."

Notable representatives[edit]

  • Jacques Richard – founder of ADFI in Le Mans, first President of FECRIS (1994–1999)

  • Tom Sackville – Vice-President of FECRIS (2005) and President of FECRIS (2009-2015)

I hope that  news organisations other  than just the less well known' Daily Caller' pick up on this and the Unied Nations and EU Committees are made aware of who is hiding under their wings disguised as a neutral 'None Governmental Organisation' giving them anti-cult/sect advice as if they are being fair and protecting the public, when in fact they have another Nationalistic/predjudice agenda going on and are in the pay of governments wherever they are.

A renowned Muslim journalist, Bashy Quraishy, who was born in India and grew up in Pakistan, decided to go to a FECRIS conference in Copenhagen, Denmark,  to interview it's president.

What he heard there he found shocking and when he questioned the president of FECRIS as to why the conference was not open to the public to  attend and about the methods of the organisation around Europe attacking minority faiths by negative campaigning - such as Jehovah's Witnesses - he received shocking treatment by FECRIS and it's president for which he has complained to the Council of Europe:

FECRIS has been described as the 21st Century Inquisition https://foref-europe.org/2012/12/05/fecris-inquisiton-of-the-21st-century/

This article peaks of the Russian Court cases against JW's, showing FECRIS involvement and how strange tactics were used to win cases on no proper evidence.

It also shows a pattern of similar tactics of FECRIS  all over Europe - quite blatant in false rumour spreading about us and other religions. This article starts with Dvorkin,  how he got to be so high in authority, despite lack of what they say are proper qualifications, but also describes other persons in Europe who are affiliated with FECRIS or Dvorkin who, with the help of their affiliated groups, have said pretty nasty unsubstantiated things about us and other organisations to the Media. Names of accusers/persecutors/critics that some on here may be familiar with already, or names worth becoming familiar with - then you know from whence the false information is being spread - not necessarily just apostates, but the agenda of FECRIS and it's affiliated groups in Europe.

They send scurrilous  documentaries to TV stations or so-called 'investigative journalist' articles in to newspapers, which, typical of media these days, don't get properly checked and then are syndicated and sold all over whole regions' newspapers/TV channels, going on to incite hatred and violence against people, which some written about in the article openly state they are glad about as it helps 'exterminate pests' - "they deserve it"(!?!).

Some affiliates/friends of FECRIS are shown up to be also members of  Anonymous and anarcist groups, willing to turn up as 'rent-a-mob' or infiltrators at protests, so it is so good that our Organisation has warned us not to join protests as they can suddenly' turn' and no longer be for the 'good cause' they promoted at first and get dangerous.

Since you mentioned this, it's always good to remember that our policy of strict neutrality is not limited to political involvement but includes the world's social issues that pit one side against another. No matter how noble or right a social cause might be, including racial issues, we shouldn't get involved as this detracts from our primary message and man's only hope for peace and security; God's Kingdom.

I know this, but it saves time to just write the other reason, without re-iterating all the main reasons for not getting involved in world social/political campaigns that we all know  as well. It's  similar scenario to saying we know all the spiritual reasons why we don't take blood, but it does have some health benefits even though that's not our main reason and to just give the health benefit rather than a long spiritual explanation first, which we all know on here and is 'taken as read'.

We do get involved with social issues that involve Gods' people that legally defend our right to preach and authorised letter campaigns to help our people's right to preach in other countries.  We may get involved with a social issue on a personal level to defend our life/safety right like the Apostle Paul when he appealed to Caesar as a Roman Citizen and called on this citizenship rights to stop a beating. This is very different to a protest march supporting worldly people in a cause that may have hidden divisive agenda and detract from our prime directive and make us look as if we don't believe it.

As for FECRIS we watch them for what will happen next/what other country is going to use what FECRIS have to clamp down on any faith that is not in favor. FECRIS are affiliating themselves to all other anti-sect/cult organisations around the World - some of which do good work protecting people from dangerous religious exploitation -  sharing their dossiers against many religions mainstream as well as minority, including us. What they define as exploiting and totalitarian is biased due to the agendas/ sources of the complaints and a wider definition than other anti-cult groups. What they accuse us of in France or Russia to cause problems, they share in other countries to try on there. It is no surprise to find their president is actually from the UK branch and has a collection of similar stuff against JW's here claiming what we believe is against various man-made national or international Human Rights Laws, etc -waiting in the wings to use against us at any time they see fit.

This information comes from http://jw-ru.blogspot.com and well as an interview with the Representative of the European Association of Christian Witnesses of Jehovah.

(Below is a Google-translated quote.)

Jehovah's Witnesses from around the World Wrote and Sent 48 Million Letters to Government Officials

Quote

Various international organizations such as the UN, the OSCE, the Council of Europe, the European Commission, many human rights defenders expressed their support for Jehovah's Witnesses. Only fellow Christians from all over the world wrote 48 million letters addressed to the President of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Justice, the Supreme Court, the Head of Government, etc.

No matter the outcome, Jehovah has the final say, and we did what we ought to have done in this matter, support our spiritual family in Russia.

Quote

"Instead, you should say: “If Jehovah wills we will live and do this or that".--James 4:15.

Jehovah's Witnesses are banned in Russia. That doesn't stop them from worshipping.

https://www.vox.com/identities/2017/8/24/16095496/jehovahs-witnesses-banned-russia-still-worshipping

“We’re on their radar at all times,” says Yuri, an affable man in his 50s who apologizes, frequently, for his near-perfect English, which he taught himself through the internet. Their largest Kingdom Hall, located in a northern suburb of Moscow, lies empty, the entrance marked with caution tape, after the building’s owner deemed it too risky to let Jehovah’s Witnesses use.

Still, the community has developed a strategy to keep its faith and worship alive. They enter the building in twos and threes to avoid attracting attention. They mix up the homes they use, to keep it difficult for government forces or potential harassers to track. They set a table laden with food, which, during the Saturday worship session I attended in July, goes entirely untouched. It’s there so that if police arrive, they can claim that they’re simply gathering for a party. And, Yuri tells me, they always keep a few bottles of vodka on hand. If the police come, he says, they can down it quickly. The police will smell their breath, notice their inebriation, and believe that they’re been carousing, not worshipping.

To be a Jehovah’s Witness in Russia, after all, is to fall afoul of the extremely complex interplay between nationality, faith, and nationalism in Vladimir Putin’s Russia, which — as I have previously written — bolsters its authoritarian regime by appealing to the fundamental “Russianness” of the state Orthodox Church. For Putin and his supporters, Jehovah’s Witnesses seem like a dangerous foreign influence. Yuri jokes that other Russians think Jehovah’s Witnesses are foreign spies, or that their frequent doorstop evangelism is actually a ploy to gather data to send back to the CIA; after all, in Russia, their religious expression inherently codes them as dangerously “Western” and “other.”

No words can be found.

But I'm curious if this Yuri is a Witness and not an infiltrant. Cause why should he else widely spread this information? I can't believe that a witness would put so much on risk if these tactics are used.

I think it is not wise to talk about this on the internet if you know anything at all. Cause Russia is a master at spreading fake news on the internet. And what if the intention of this article is to make other witnesses talk about methods they know of. Russia also got specialized hackers. We never know if anyone already got access to forums like these or if they have penetrated elsewere.

Zero Days 'documentary' talked about Israël and the UN who has penetrated in the whole system of Iran without being discovered. So who tells us that they don't got Access to these simple sites?

at least one win!!!

https://jw-russia.org/news/17082417-208.html

The Court of Appeal confirmed the acquittal of the Sergiev Posad Elders

Today, August 24, 2017, the Moscow Regional Court upheld the acquittal of

two Jehovah's Witnesses from Sergiev Posad. Vyacheslav Stepanov and Andrei Sivak  - are innocent.

To establish this simple truth law enforcement agencies and the court took more than 7 years !

Many years of unfair prosecution of these law-abiding citizens relied on the "Reference" signed by expert Natalia Kryukova, who on October 11, 2010, after analyzing the videotapes of the sermons she read, stated that they had extremism. Expert Kryukova, among other things, is known for the fact that on the basis of her "conclusion" the Bible itself was recognized as extremist material !

After July 16, 2013 Vyacheslav Stepanov and Andrei Sivak was charged under part 2 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code (incitement of hatred or enmity, committed by an organized group), these believers were listed as "accomplices of extremism". As a result, among other things, their accounts were blocked. Andrei Sivak was forced to leave his pedagogical work.

Today's court decision means that the Sergiev Posad citizens Vyacheslav Stepanov and Andrei Sivak have the right to rehabilitation.
