Updates to JW Library (iOS, Android, Windows)

Recommended Posts

It's just the time and effort to get back to what it was. Lately,  I've got plenty of time. Been laid off from work for 3 weeks now. Lol

"there was Jehovah’s word for him, and it went on to say to him: “What is your business here, E·lijah?" To this (Elijah) he said: “I have been absolutely jealous for Jehovah the God of armies"- 1 Kings 19:9, 10 Reference Bible

ARGGHH! I just powered up my tablet and a system update is coming in!  I have the choice to install or not but it warns me that I need to keep my system up to date (basically telling me to install).  At least I have all my publications in Moon Reader Pro that I can use as a backup (including my bible) if this system update makes my JWLIB go haywire.

Ash, I'll let you know how it turns out for me.

For some odd/wierd reason, my JWLib added the "Afrikaans" language to my tablet!  It added the Bible and the song book even though I had not downloaded those languages.  I delelted them but they still show up in my "recommended" list in my languages.  I can't even begin to imagine what all  that was about!  I just remember looking down at the meeting and seeing the scriptures in my study pane in a language I had never seen before!

Mine did that! Thought I was going mad.

The conclusion of the matter, everything having been heard, is: Fear the true God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole obligation of man. Ec 12:13

Glad to hear I wasn't the only one.  What kind of tablet do you have?  It's an odd glitch.

Ash, after the system update I'm still running Android 5.1.1, looks like I got a security patch.

My galaxy note 4 was upgraded to Android 6. My JW Library app just kept 9n closing after installing. I uninstalled and reinstalled and hope to download all files I had before. I hope all goes well with reinstall. It's going to be a while.  Here are some screenshots.

It's all good now. A little less than an hour to get everything back. Whew :bringiton:

Was my iPad I think, or maybe my iPhone, or maybe my Android!

If you downloaded all the videos, music and puclications to your SD card, you shouldn't of had to redownload them again.

New update on Android, version 1.6.1:

  • Material Design update
  • Fixed an issue where documents would sometimes never load
  • Improvements to performance
  • Improved Full Screen setting

It looks different...

Also a new feature to display videos on a second monitor or screen.   Click on Settings -> Video Display.  When on, the second screen goes blank with the JW logo in the bottom-right corner.

Can see that being a handy feature at some Kingdom Halls to play videos if they don't already have software to do that.

Yes! The reason why I couldn't wait for the Meeting tab was so I could be looking at more than one publication at once instead of closing one then going to the other. For example, I could have open the watchtower study in the meeting tab, which I could then switch to another publication without closing the watchtower.

Also, LOVE the new audio/video feature. Now you can listen to music (or videos) downloaded (including on shuffle mode) while reading. This is great for practicing our new songs.

Jehovah's blessings are truly abundant.

This is a nice feature. Can you screenshot how you do it?
