The reason confirmed cases continues to rise so rapidly could be because

the degree of contagion is so high.

That does look like the real number, and I agree that China would try to hide or lower the true death toll by listing other causes in death papers. 

 

We have already got about 350 suspected cases of coronavirus in my home country, which borders China. The local government is so incompetent and corrupt that I am thinking that the epidemic will be far worse than in China. 

 

As you may have heard, people are even dying on the streets due to lack of resources in China. 🙁

 

The GT has not started yet, and it is already quite scary. I can only imagine what it will be like during the GT.

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — As many experts question the veracity of China's statistics for the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak, Tencent over the weekend seems to have inadvertently released what is potentially the actual number of infections and deaths, which were astronomically higher than official figures.

On late Saturday evening (Feb. 1), Tencent, on its webpage titled "Epidemic Situation Tracker," showed confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (2019nCoV) in China as standing at 154,023, 10 times the official figure at the time. It listed the number of suspected cases as 79,808, four times the official figure.

Corona virus is a term used to describe a huge and ever changing family or virus. It could mistake toward strength ( lethality) or weakness in each generation. It could literally change just enough within a person to then immediately reinfect that same person.

How the new coronavirus will finally get a proper name

They (  ICTV study group ) are now submitting the name to a scientific journal for publication and hope to announce it within days.

 

The World Health Organization (WHO) has recommended the temporary name 2019-nCoV, which includes the year it was discovered, "n" to denote new or novel, and "CoV" for coronavirus. But it has not exactly stuck.

"The name it has now is not easy to use and the media and the public are using other names for the virus," says Dr Watson.

"The danger when you don't have an official name is that people start using terms like China Virus, and that can create a backlash against certain populations."

With social media, unofficial names take hold quickly and are hard to take back, she says.

It could be both.
