The footnote on page 5, mentions that sometimes Rutherford was called Judge. It is more like many times because it was mention in the publications, radio, newspapers, etc; Many in the truth and in the world called him Judge too. My neighbor use to call him Judge when I was a kid. Maybe he heard him on the radio or even saw him.

STUDY ARTICLE 42

“Happy Are Those Who Keep Integrity” to Jehovah

16. We have read what Jehovah has done in the past. What, then, may we expect in the near future? We can be confident that Jehovah will rescue his loyal servants during the coming “great tribulation.” (Matt. 24:21; Dan. 12:1) He will do this when a coalition of nations, known as Gog of Magog, makes its vicious, worldwide assault on those who are faithful to Jehovah. Even if that coalition includes all 193 members of the United Nations, it will be no match for the Supreme One and his heavenly forces! Jehovah promises: “I will certainly magnify myself and sanctify myself and make myself known before the eyes of many nations; and they will have to know that I am Jehovah.” — Ezek. 38:14-16, 23; Ps. 46:10.17. What future does the Bible predict for the kings of the earth and for those who keep integrity to Jehovah?

17. Gog’s assault will trigger Jehovah’s final showdown at Armageddon when He destroys “the kings of the entire inhabited earth.” (Rev. 16:14, 16; 19:19-21) In contrast, “only the upright will reside in the earth, and the one who keeps integrity will remain in it.” — Prov. 2:21, ftn.

The experience of Brother Claus was also published on the back cover of the May, 2017 Watchtower.  It's a favorite of mine.

The usher , keeping any latecomers out (so as not to distract) said to Bro. Claus  "How can you leave at a time like this"?

The brothers on the roof said they prayed to Jehovah to send a brother with a knife !!!       LOL

I like the way GB relates Gog of Magog with the 193 nations that compose UN. Frankly I have thought about it and the subject was brought up during our worship night this week.

but it’s the first time I see it clearly on a watchtower

And yet more discussion on the book of Daniel. Study article 42 highlights lessons we learn about Jehovah from Daniel chapter 7. Great stuff!

Is there no longer an explanation of these texts? Well, anyway I think that the publications that exist on this topic are already old, I hope there is a new current understanding.

Seem awkward to me… reporting to the 1919-1922 period of fullfillment

if chapter 12 reports to the final part of the final days and beyond it seems logical to expect a new understanding

but

i may be wrong 🙄🤔🫣🫣🫣🫣🫣

I think I mentioned this before, but quite interestingly, on the last year’s movie, Daniel: A Lifetime of Faith—Part II, there was a scene where angel says Daniel 12:12 to Daniel.

But the strange thing was, they subtly omitted the mention of 1,335 days, and also, that the scene was as if that scripture applies to the final part of the last days, i.e. GT, Armageddon and the resurrection hope.

From the movie:

Daniel: O my lord, what will be the outcome of these things?

Gabriel: Happy is the one who keeps in expectation. Go on to the end. You will rest, but you will stand up for your lot at the end of the days.

(Daniel 12:12) 12 “Happy is the one who keeps in expectation and who arrives at the 1,335 days!”
https://www.jw.org/finder?wtlocale=E&pub=nwtsty&srctype=wol&bible=27012012&srcid=share

So in the movie, when Gabriel said “Happy is the one who keeps in expectation … Go on to the end,” that seems to be referring to the earthly paradise—his resurrection hope.

After all, Daniel asked the angel, “what will be the outcome of these things?” And the outcome of Daniel 11, 12 is Jehovah’s everlasting paradise.

But of course, this is just speculation. 😂

not strange... most certainly the explanation is a bit different from the actual and explaining it may take some time for us to understand correctly.

GB knows best. Some of us are fast learners... others not and require more justifications and time.

That was the reason AM shouldnt be shared BEFORE january when GB explains a+b+c+d the reason of the new understanding so it can reach our hearts.

This is the explanation we have until today. However, there may be new understandings in the near future.

It makes no sense at all this understanding since chapter 12 refers to the final part of the final days. Daniel is asking about the outcome of all these things. And the angel answers with these numbers. It surely cant be fullfilled on the FIRST part of the last days. Makes no sense. I think it can be related to the rise of the last KOTN. Not the date of the GT because Jesus told that no one knew the exact date. But this is my thought. @Doak There´s a topic here at this forum about the prophetic times of Daniel. Maybe you could look into it 😉 Now let´s back to the topic. We are about to discuss the Saturday morning session now by zoom :)

While speculation and general interest is fine, it should be remembered that we have printed direction and explanation of the meaning of these verses and the relative numbers mentioned.  We have identified these points, explained the reasoning behind them and produced literature for study that includes them for almost 100 years.  Now we see a one-hour movie and we suddenly decide it must all be incorrect.

If it needs adjustment, it will be explained as a clarification.  If it is incorrect but doesn't change any feature of our faith before the Great Tribulation, then it won't be clarified until the "New Scrolls".  If it is absolutely true....be careful of trying to "run ahead" and perhaps sow doubt in our understanding (especially in the new students).

The passage of time will show the clarity.  In the meantime we "keep the faith".  Paul warns us of going off point and following some other word rather than what he taught.  John warns us of starting to deviate in 1 John 2:24..."As for you, what you have heard from the beginning must remain in you."  So we wait in faith and loyalty for clarity.  We do not use a lack of understanding on our part as a reason for doubt.  Jesus always knows the proper time  to give us food....❤️
