There seems to have been a little puzzlement about this joke, so perhaps it needs an explanation.

Descartes famously said "I think, therefore I am".  So conversely in the joke he says "I think not" - so ceases to exist.

 

Not as good when it has to be explained.

Reminds me of the good old days, when what we called the "Cartesian Plane" is now commonly referred to as coordinate plane. True story: When I was writing a book (which, incidentaly, is 5 star rated), I had a chapter about a race horse I used to own (Brian B. Run.) Next chapter, I was writing about math systems on a coordinate plane. I know, I was putting the horse before Descartes.                                                               Y (Just walk away Renee)S

The philosophy professor that went to horse races after class...

Always putting Descartes before the horse...🤣
