You can talk about anything, even if that thought is silly, that comes to your mind

when you think about Utopia and the NW at the same time.

For me, one thing.

That is, people living there won’t complain about the new world or its rulers.

I mean, they ‘agreed’ to be residents of that country, while most residents of any nation in this world

have never chosen to be part of it.

The new world will be something that people build together out of their own accord, willingly.

Besides, anyone who doesn’t want to live in that society.... will have been gone already.. 🤭

For me it will be being there with my family, my daughter, son in law and my 2 little granddaughter's who aren't in the Truth will be with me and my husband.

My dad and my brother will be alive and with me, happy at last and who knows perhaps I'll even be at peace with my mother and she'll say "Sorry' for all the pain she caused me and she may even like me.

Oh and I'll be slim 😃😃😃

This world uses the word "utopia" when talking about something unreal, unachievable. The whole idea of the perfect new world or paradise is a utopia to the ungodly.

But not so with us. :) Everything will be a utopia. 👍

All of our needs will be completely taken care of.  There will be no one struggling to make ends meet, nobody scratching to eke out a meager existence.  No one will be homeless or lack enough money for their basic needs.

(Isaiah 65:21-23) 21 They will build houses and live in them, And they will plant vineyards and eat their fruitage. 22 They will not build for someone else to inhabit, Nor will they plant for others to eat. For the days of my people will be like the days of a tree, And the work of their hands my chosen ones will enjoy to the full. 23 They will not toil for nothing, Nor will they bear children for distress, Because they are the offspring made up of those blessed by Jehovah, And their descendants with them.

Sickness will be eliminated along with all the other problems that cause pain and suffering.

(Isaiah 33:24) 24 And no resident will say: “I am sick.” The people dwelling in the land will be pardoned for their error.
(Revelation 21:4) And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.

War and violence will never plague humankind.

(Psalm 72:7, 12, 14)  7 In his days the righteous will flourish, And peace will abound until the moon is no more ... For he will rescue the poor who cry for help, Also the lowly one and whoever has no helper ... From oppression and from violence he will rescue them, And their blood will be precious in his eyes.

But this doesn't mean people will be lazy, apathetic, or constantly living a boring life of total leisure with no work.  We won't be a civilization of Eloi or Lotus Eaters.  In fact, the Bible describes the exact opposite.

(Genesis 1:28) 28 Further, God blessed them, and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many, fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving on the earth.”

(Isaiah 65:21) 21 They will build houses and live in them, And they will plant vineyards and eat their fruitage.
(2 Thessalonians 3:10) . . .In fact, when we were with you, we used to give you this order: “If anyone does not want to work, neither let him eat.”
(1 Thessalonians 4:11, 12) . . .Make it your aim to live quietly and to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we instructed you, 12 so that you may walk decently in the eyes of people outside and not need anything.
(1 Timothy 5:8) . . .Certainly if anyone does not provide for those who are his own, and especially for those who are members of his household, he has disowned the faith and is worse than a person without faith.

So, in this utopia there will be honest, happy, healthy people working to better themselves and the world around them.  These people will be free from strife and oppression.  They will all be united in peace and able to enjoy life and worship their God freely forever.  They will not become stagnant or lazy or bored with life.  There will always be new challenges to face and overcome but those challenges will never threaten the lives and well-beings of anyone alive.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

Rather tan go "back" to a time when "life was simpler" - especially when that life was so much harder ...

I think we will go forward . Invent/build things we have never seen and enjoy every day because, even if work at a job that, currently, is viewed as mundane ... nothing will be boring because we will not be trying to eek out a living leaving us too tired to enjoy our life.

"Let all things take place decently and by arrangement."

I do believe in progress...therefore I imagine that in Paradise same-minded people will work together on projects, that fascinates them and gives pleasure to general population.

For example I am keenly interested in video production, and photography, and it would be a UTOPIA for me to be on the forum/clubs with people who display similar interests.

Without dying we would be in a perfect position to keep improving cameras, and other supportive equipment that produces results but it's simple to use and of course available to all.

I hope we will celebrate festivals like they did in ancient Israel but imagine the fabulous style with which we celebrate as a perfect society. If Jehovah does decree festivals, imagine how we will commemorate our deliverance through the tribulation. Think of the songs we will write, think of the ways we will express our joy and our thankfulness. International Conventions are a small glimpse of our potential for celebration.

And while there is reason to believe we won’t live in cities, on some level we will still need design for structures and if we do have any version of cities things like city planning will be done perfectly. In every part of the world I have visited I have always observed some public area or structure that has been poorly designed. In the new world that will not be an issue, plus we will not need to worry about issues like security or hostility or even disabled accessibility; two elements will rule when it comes to design - style and practicality.

It is a true joy of mine to see style and practicality combine to make something beautiful, whether it be in fashion, inventions, or architecture. That is a hallmark of Jehovah’s creations, beautiful but purposeful. In the new world we will be free of today’s constraints i.e. money, time, self-interest etc. and we will be able to design, plan and build to our heart’s content and all without harming the planet, everything in harmony.

What belongs to the realm of fantasy in this system, will be possible in a New World. (talking about architecture)

The beauty of the houses and general buildings will exceed the wildest expectations.

We will view satanic system and its "accomplishments"  as a concentration camp created for humans.

We will be a less wasteful society.

Ever since the convention part about appreciating our earth, I've taken a keen interest on how I can show appreciation by being less wasteful. Yes, the world will be restored no matter what I do, but knowing I'm trashing the earth does not show appreciation.

Anyways, I've done a lot of study into the matter and came to the sad realization that most of what we do to be "eco-friendly" is nearly futile

The way that this world is designed - at a fundamental level - creates such a reckless amount of waste. Everything you buy comes wrapped in plastic. Items are over packaged with cardboard, plastic, and styrofoam.

Workers are forced to commute - one car per worker - to a far away city on a congested highway for hours, every day, all year, in order to make a living. These are just a couple of the ways we produce endless, useless waste.

I don't know what systems we will have in place, but whatever they are I imagine would be near zero-waste. Not living in cities would allow us to all have enough space to properly care for ourselves without all the needless waste. The elimination of this economic system would mean no more gadgets of the month (electronic waste), over packaged items (packaging waste), and no more congested road ways (air pollution).

I imagine disposable cups and utensils would be done away with (for the most part). You'd have to bring your own portable cup to brother Starbucks' house 😜

Excess crops grown on your land could either be used as compost, or perhaps donated to a local, centralized 'store'/'co-op'/'commissary'' for others to get what they don't grow at their own house.

Economics

I'm also deeply curious as to what form of economic system we'll have in the new world.

  • Will there be some form of currency? (seems like the slave has insinuated we won't need money)
  • Will we rely on trading our items? (Which would actually turn our produce into a form of currency with some really complicated exchange rates, depending on how strictly we held to such rates)
  • Will we donate unneeded items to a local exchange? (Like the 'shop' mentioned above. Such a shop wouldn't even need to be manned. It could simply be checked in on once a day to ensure that it's stocked, or that bugs aren't tearing it apart.)

Building

I'm really looking forward to seeing Jehovah's creation, and our creation finally in perfect harmony. I always imagine the future earth to be a planetary garden. Nature and artistic construction woven together throughout the planet. We we're made in God's image, with the ability to create. We were made to be fellow workers with God. I imagine that will fully come to pass in the new world, and I am so looking forward to that.

I wonder if we will have a weekly sabbath again.  Jehovah required Israel to have a sabbath because they were an entire nation dedicated to Jehovah.  Therefore, they needed a specific day to set aside from work so that they could focus on spiritual matters.

The new world will be the same.  We will be an entire people dedicated to Jehovah.

Jehovah didn't say anything to Adam about a sabbath (that we know of) so I wonder if a sabbath would be necessary for perfect people.

Rely, is rather strong position to me ...perhaps perfect person will be able to produce anything he wants.

Even in today’s world there are many self-learners accomplishing goals by simply learning how to do things, (courses, You Tube, books offer that help)

Personally I want to learn how to make things like shoes, clothing, building houses, etc etc.... and more.

He didn't institute the sabbath until the nation of Israel.  So all those imperfect people before then didn't observe the sabbath. Likewise Christians aren't under this requirement, either.

The principle/spirit of the Sabbath will remain ...

Why is Jesus called “Lord even of the sabbath”? “The Law has a shadow of the good things to come,” wrote the apostle Paul. (Heb. 10:1) As the Law stipulated, the Sabbath came after six days of work, and Jesus performed many of his cures on that day. This foreshadowed the peaceful rest and other blessings that mankind will experience under the Thousand Year Reign of Christ after the end of Satan’s oppressive rulership. Therefore, the King of that Kingdom is also “Lord of the sabbath.”—Matt. 12:8; Luke 6:5. W08 2/15
