“We found a textual difference that has no parallel with any other manuscript, either in Hebrew or in Greek,” said Oren Ableman, a Dead Sea Scroll researcher with the Israel Antiquities Authority. He referred to slight variations in the Greek rendering of the Hebrew original compared to the Septuagint — a translation of the Hebrew Bible into Greek made in Egypt in the 3rd and 2nd centuries BC.

“When we think about the biblical text, we think about something very static. It wasn’t static. There are slight differences, and some of those differences are important,” said Joe Uziel, head of the antiquities authority’s Dead Sea Scrolls unit. “Every little piece of information that we can add, we can understand a little bit better” how the biblical text came into its traditional Hebrew form.

The article is rather unclear. It repeats the same facts several times, it gives the impression the journalist is copying fragments from several sources without knowing very well what he's talking about.

Regarding that comment about textual differences, it's not a big deal. These are Greek manuscripts, not Hebrew. I mean, those are not differences in the original Hebrew text, but differences between two different translations into Greek. It's like saying there are some differences between the old NWT and the new one, or between the NWT and the Jerusalem Bible. Of course there are differences, you wouldn't expect different translators to use exactly the same words. :) Those differences don't mean anything regarding the accuracy of the Hebrew text.

Dead Sea scroll fragments and 'world's oldest basket' found in desert cave | Religion | The Guardian

The IAA said the scrolls it found were Greek translations of the books of Zechariah and Nahum from the Book of the Twelve Minor Prophets, and were radiocarbon-dated to the 2nd century AD. The name of God is written in Hebrew.

Not only that the article  mentions: "Israeli researchers unveiled on Tuesday dozens of newly discovered Dead Sea Scroll fragments containing biblical texts dating back nearly 2,000 years, adding to the body of artifacts that have shed light on the history of Judaism, early Christian life and ancient humankind." https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/16/world/middleeast/dead-sea-scrolls-israel.html

Another article mentions:"

The fragments are b5elieved to have been part of a scroll stashed away in the cave during the Bar Kochba Revolt, an armed Jewish uprising against Rome during the reign of Emperor Hadrian, between 132 and 136. Coins struck by rebels and arrowheads found in other caves in the region also hail from that period.

If the scrolls were written in 2nd century AD, then Christians were well aware who was Jehovah and people were using his name after all the apostles died.

It never ceases to amaze me how Jehovah has preserved his word. Not only has it survived, it is alive, and it flourishes. Brings to mind the words spoken of in Daniel’s prophecy about how people in the time of the end, many thousands of years after Daniel had died, would “examine it thoroughly” and the true knowledge would become abundant. (Da 12:4) To accomplish this, a massive project had to be undertaken to preserve that word of God, and make it available, not only in Greek, but in every language of man.

I hadn’t read that it contained Jehovah’s name! If nothing else, this is sure to pique interest in at least one thing about Jehovah and will certainly help advertise His name!

Goosebumps. But just about everything happening these (last) days does that  😅

It is from this section of the article: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/16/world/middleeast/dead-sea-scrolls-israel.html
