Sounds like water drying up?

NPR had a very clear description of what's going on there and how religion is a key contributor. Shameful what they're doing.

FDA warns of false results with widely used coronavirus test

Good news! The key to our natural immunity is already in place.

The explanation given sounds good, though it went over my head a bit.

Can you or anyone else with Medical-speak help me understand one of the comments from the article? It sites possible disadvantages, which I can’t understand, thanks.

”The authors contend that T cell responses, both in the stages of waning antibody levels and cross-reactive T cell responses in unexposed individuals, could be protective. However, they neglect to mention the distinct possibility that this may be disadvantageous in possibly facilitating induction of ADE.

Your letter by Jiang in this same journal issue does quite a good job delineating both these potential advantages and disadvantages of cross-reactive antibody responses. The interplay between cross-reactive humoral and cellular responses is important to note.

As for waning antibody levels, the role of existing cellular (T cell) memory from prior infection has been shown to be responsible for ADE in dengue virus. In addition, cross-reactive T cell responses have been shown to incite plasma leakage syndrome in dengue fever.

It is important to not neglect mentioning these potential disadvantageous consequences of T cell immunity.”

I imagine that though this is good news, no one knows how this virus operates, as it is a new one.

Interesting and logical, I guesss. What about Singapore though? Yes, they got the virus under control, had the second wave in the migrant worker quarters due mainly to overcrowding. It’s very humid in Singapore. Just wondering that there are so many facets to dealing with this virus.

I know it was announced it our all that if we are offered a box we should take it. I don't really need it and really feel like it should have gone to somebody else because I just can't eat it. In fact it's going to waste.  Of course I didn't complain to the brother but I mentioned that I know I need to take it because that's the arrangement but i sure did wish that it could go to somebody else.  And he said this is the arrangement and I should take it and do my best with it. Everyone that is needy has been taken care of and there is an overabundance! It must have been 20lbs of produce, sad to say my wife has only used 2 sweet potatoes....we just dont cook like that and life is too hectic around here.  I feel bad but i knew it before we took it.

When you watch the Sunday convention about what some brothers and sisters are seriously dealing with around the world regarding hunger, perhaps it will inspire some kind of ways to conserve instead of just letting the food go to waste...

Can someone kindly explain the food distribution directive from branch about food boxes to congregations please?  Is it selective or a must?

I would say at this time it is selective, not a general program. It can only take place where the government is releasing these food products to organizations in the area where they are warehoused,  to organization that can manage distribution.

It does not come from the Branch, it comes from the LDC as part of disaster relief in much the same manner as these committees notify congregations of secular government agencies and programs that could be of assistance to certain catagories of sponsored relief programs that might be of assistance to certain groups in the congregations. The BOE knows who might profit from thes programs and they are notified of the progams. One of the most recent dealt with artists who might qualify under a specific aid program, if you were not some one that made there living through there art you did not hear of it.

My neighbors are in the same shape we are both, financally and as to produce needs. To go door to door searching for some in need might be considered  public ministry. Public ministry is halted in the US.

We are finally eating the head of calliflower that recieved a month ago, still have some of the carrots (not the diced carrots, and diced potatoes. they went bad three weeks back).  The half dozen potatoes in their skins have been added to the 30 pound box we bought at the start of lock down. If we still had children at home we might have been better able to use the supplies given but we are certainly not in the need of extra produce.

To accept another box would be a sin, to not accept it is a sin. Which is the lessor sin?

I am not sying I am Superman, I am only saying that nobody has ever seen Superman  and me in a room together.

Yeah I didnt even want to mention it but it's just the truth... should have known I would get a bad reaction. What am I supposed to do, tell the brothers that I don't want it?  which I sort of did. I just dont have need for it.  Im not unappreciative, and certainly there will be a day I Wish I Had It! I wish I could send it to brothers that were in need, but its perishable. I have overflowing freezers and refrigerators and such a busy life i cant eat what i already have.  And I have given food away to brothers and sisters in the past. I work for a food distributor so you could imagine I generally have no lack of food and I am constantly giving it away. I just have absolutely no need for more food! Not now anyway.  I hate it that some brothers are starving, and here we sit in the US with fat bellies and no worries! But you know the only thing that's going to solve this is Jehovah's Kingdom. Like the above comment, sin to take it, sin to reject it!  Oh and my neighbors are farmers oh, they don't need it either!

We have been discussing the food distribution here:  https://jwtalk.net/topic/45822-food-distribution-for-congregations/

Keep in mind this topic is about secular news concerning Coronavirus.

Thank you Br. Shawster.  I looked for it but did not realize it was under food.  Thank you for correction.

That’s not what I got at all. I’m getting that people aren’t staying home. They can still group together online.

WINTER AND COVID BY DR JOHN CAMPBELL/AUGUST 19, 2020

This makes sense to me.  For years, I have had a humidifier in my home, since heat dries you out.  It has for me, kept colds at bay.

Could someone get me the link for this I just didn’t know how to do it.
