I'll start off by saying that I want the vaccine, the AZ one is available here and I'm classed as a safe age to have it...

However, I have a severe immediate reaction to the normal flu vaccine to the point that I can no longer have it, I've spoken to my Doctor as to whether I could take the covid vaccine and to be honest I got no where.... I've tried to research but that's proving difficult.

So does anyone know what ingredient in the normal flu vaccine that I react to? I don't have allergies of any kind and it's a mystery to me... the first time I took the flu vaccine I was fine, but then I started to react to the point of almost fainting etc...

I'm not looking for anyone telling me not to have it or to have it... I'm just wondering if anyone can help on the ingredients of both vaccines?

You can't walk with God while holding hands with the Devil.

I don't know the ingredients, but my wife, Katrina had a bad reaction to the flu vaccine. She had no reaction to the Moderna vaccine (outside of some mild tenderness at the injection site)

I don't know if that helps

I understand the hesitation in some cases, but the conspiracies being spread are really getting out of hand.

It is so easy to find factual information out there. I just wish people would take the time to do their own research (on reputable sites that know what they’re talking about) before deciding for or against it. So far, every conspiracy thus far has been debunked, but there are still those who continue to spread misinformation about something that is safe for the majority of adults (and teens) and highly effective.

This outbreak of covid-19 at our hospital in Singapore shows those vaccinated were asymptomatic or had mild symptoms.

Of the 43 cases in the cluster, seven staff members and two patients had received full doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, said the Health Minister. “They were all either asymptomatic, or only exhibited mild symptoms, and none of them required oxygen support.”

Among the 34 who were not fully vaccinated, six needed oxygen support, two are in intensive care, and one died from COVID-19 complications, he added.

“While the numbers are too small to draw firm conclusions, the findings do indicate that vaccination provides critical protection even against COVID-19 variants,” said Mr Gan.

Of course people should make up their own minds. Obviously not all people should get the vaccine- a lot of people who have had serious reactions to a vaccine in the past aren’t getting it and that’s 100% understandable. No one is upset with anyone for not getting a vaccine that they might have a bad reaction to.

The point of the article above and my comment were that people are hearing lies about vaccines and making their decision based on those lies- the most recent being the “shedding” and infertility/menstruation issue claims; those are just ridiculous conspiracies!

Here´s this weeks news about vaccine research on coronavirus:

Counting the dead

A new analysis by the Institute for Health Metrics at the University of Washington suggests 6.9 million people worldwide have died from COVID-19, more than twice as officially reported. In certain countries such as India, Mexico, or Russia, the number of deaths has been dramatically undercounted. The analysis also estimates that roughly 2.5 million more people will die of COVID-19 in the next six months.

From interest to concern

Public Health England has decided to “upgrade” one of the three types of the Indian variant (B.1.617.2) from variant of interest to variant of concern, due to the observation that it may be spreading faster than the others, and as fast as the B117 variant. This B.1.617.2 variant does not harbour the E484 mutation associated with enhanced immune escape.

Few people carry high viral loads

Only 2% of infected individuals carry 90% of virions circulating in the community at a given time, according to a study that analysed saliva from SARS-CoV-2 positive individuals that were asymptomatic or presymptomatic. The study does not allow to determine whether everyone passes through a short time period of extremely high viral load. In any case, it suggests that at a given time, some people may be more infectious than others.

The secret lies in the speed

An analysis of humoral (antibody) immune responses in patients with COVID-19 with varying disease severities reveals that mortality does not correlate with the levels of anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies, but rather with the speed at which they are produced. Higher mortality correlated with slower seroconversion.

Beyond the receptor binding domain

A careful analysis of the antibody repertoire to the Spike protein in convalescent subjects shows that a high percentage of antibodies are directed against protein sequences (epitopes) outside the domain that binds to the ACE2 receptor. One of these epitopes (in the so-called N-terminal domain) is often mutated among emerging viral variants, suggesting these mutations have important implications for immune protection.

Vaccines work against variants

A single booster dose with of Moderna’s mRNA vaccine containing the sequence of the B.1.351 (“South African”) variant in previously vaccinated individuals increased titers of neutralising antibodies against this and the P.1 (“Brazil”) variant, according to the company.

However, updated vaccines may not even be necessary to fight these variants, according to real-world data from Qatar, where nearly all cases are due to B.1.1.7 or B.1.351. Two doses of the Pfizer /BioNTech vaccine was 90% effective against B.1.1.7 and 75% effective against B.1.351, for both asymptomatic and symptomatic infections. It was 97% effective against severe, critical, or fatal illness, for both variants. One dose provided much lower protection, particularly against the B.1.351 variant.

Furthermore, a study (not yet peer-reviewed) that followed convalescent individuals during 12 months indicates that immunity in these individuals will be long-lasting and that vaccination with the available mRNA vaccines should confer protection against circulating variants.

Expanding global access to vaccines

The WHO also approved China’s Sinopharm inactivated virus vaccine for emergency use. This approval will expand vaccine options for low- and middle-income countries. The vaccine’s efficacy for symptomatic and hospitalized disease was estimated to be 79%, all age groups combined.

A first step towards a pancoronavirus vaccine?

A vaccine consisting of nanoparticles composed of many receptor binding multimeric receptor binding domains of SARS-CoV-2 induced antibody responses in macaques, capable of cross-neutralizing bat coronaviruses, SARS-CoV-1, SARS-CoV-2, and SARS-CoV-2 variants B.1.1.7, P.1, and B.1.351. The study also shows that the current mRNA vaccines may provide some protection against future outbreaks of other related coronaviruses.

Is this a sign that vaccinations are working? (:P)

Zero Covid deaths for England, Scotland and NI - BBC News

Experts say cases, hospital admissions and Covid-related deaths have all decreased and vaccines are having the desired protective effect, with the latest figures showing a third of UK adults are now fully vaccinated against Covid-19, and two-thirds have had their first of two doses.

Covid cases in my neck of woods were 47 people with Covid. So come Monday, the Governor has said on May 17, all people who got shots can remove the masks in any establishments.  That's the Governor's statement.  So far I have not heard removing masks from the branch at any of our meetings.  So mine stays on when I go out and into establishments.

This is a forum where mostly those in health care post reactions they have had to their vaccinations. Some say not much of a reaction..some..horrific reactions..interesting. We are told..do our research!..so I did. Many doctors and nurses relate their story..not one claims to be an advocate for anti-vaxers.

Current plea in the news.  A doctor's plea and some thoughtful information.

"If you’re among the 20% who won’t get a COVID-19 vaccine, this message is for you"

https://www.yahoo.com/news/among-20-won-t-covid-100000872.html

The information about this shot is all over the place.  Please don't think being vaccinated means "you are safe".  I recently saw a concise list put together of the questions and answers we have been given from the media, from drs., scientists, etc.  It's quite possible that the 20% that have decided "not" to take the shot have asked themselves some if not all of these questions and decided "not to take it".  I am not trying to discourage anyone from taking or not taking shot.  I am not judging anyone that has or hasn't take the shot.  I do think the questions/answers poised are good food for thought either way.  Also if anyone disagrees can do the research and find sources where the answer was given at one time or another.

As a reminder: the governing body has said "we shouldn't try to force our views of taking" or "not taking a vaccine" on others.  Nor should we "judge" those that decide not to take the shot.

Finally, the CDC has announced today masks are no longer needed if you are "fully vaccinated".  Please do not let down your guard as the governing body has said.  The world is ready to get back to normal (as money is being lost).  Lives are not being considered in the big picture.  If you are not your own "advocate" no one will be.

This comments section that is posted, is very narrow thinking. The vaccine is not and never has been a YES/NO situation, and never a 100% solution/answer. It is in degrees and percentages. So the question and answers are abrupt and misleading. We have to use abstract thinking to understand beyond the way I would explain things to an elementary school student. Children only think in concrete, they can't think in grey/abstract scenarios. But as adults, we should use more critical thinking.

Here's some critical thinking that is not Yes/No answer?  This is not meant to be for or against the shot but these questions are food for thought.

If the shot is as safe as it's said to be "why does everyone taking it" have to sign a waiver of some sort?

Can you really trust that a company in satan's world that makes a health product really tell us if they find it doesn't work well or causes harm?

Shouldn't a company that is sure their product works stand behind it and not require you to sign a form saying you won't hold the makers responsible?

Why is there legislation in place to "protect companies" from damages resulting from shots?

Why are the ones responsible for the logistics of administering/giving shots also the ones in charge of gathering the data on their effectiveness or ineffectiveness?

Why are they also the ones to says "if a reaction, side effect, etc is the result of the shot or not?

If someone dies after taking the first or 2nd shot why are these same people responsible for saying it's related to or unrelated to said shot?

Why is it when someone gets sick, dies after taking the shot it's because of underlying conditions.  It couldn't possibly the shot?

What are ALL the ingredients in the shot?

Why does every medication known to man that treats 1 thing always has a lot of "side effects" if you read the precautions on the bag the pharmacy give us?

I could go on but simply put if one wants to take the shot "that is their decision and others should respect it".  Same for those that don't want to take it.  The governing body didn't say we should think only in the abstract, literal, or otherwise.  They simply tell us to consider what's best for our own families because everyone's situation is different.  They also keep reminding us that we are living in a world run by satan.  We can't always trust what we are told.  We also need to not get distracted and turn on each other about these shots, wearing masks or other this entire pandemic saga.  We can't keep calling "people that choose to not take a shot" anti-vaxer, etc.  Or accuse them of blood guilt if they don't take a shot.  The best way to get people to comply is to instill panic and fear.

This pandemic is a distraction for the world and we need to stay focused.  Jesus only told us to at Matthew 28:19,20  "go make disciples".  He didn't tell us to go make our Brothers and Sisters take a shot.

Proverbs 14:15 tells us The naive person believes every word, But the shrewd one ponders each step.

Not calling anyone "naive" just saying we have to consider the source of the information we are getting from the world on this matter.  If it fits an agenda then the life of people over profits will win out everytime.  We should make sure we are not becoming like the world trying to bully people "that choose not to take a shot" into doing so.  It's not our job to police others or judge them because of their decision.

Matthew 5:26 reminds us of the woman that suffered from trying to get cures "in this system" when the only cure will come from Jehovah's son "Jesus".

Because they don't want to be sued, because they can't guarantee anything 100%. Sometimes I have wanted to go on a special ride, or ride a horse, and I have to sign a waiver. I don't like it. It's not fair. But that's life in this system. Many places ask you to sign your rights away, and you have no choice if you want the item. I agree that their waiving the ability to be sued really stinks, and I even posted that previously. But again, it has to be weighed against the benefits.

27 minutes ago, lovjahupepl said:

Well that question would apply to just about anything and everything. Most of our food and water here in the USA has been packaged and approved through a company, and if we suspect all of them, we would literally die. I am pretty sure that I eat contaminated food, whether through pesticides, or antibiotics given to animals, or sick animals that are still butchered for food, etc. etc. Even if I try, there is no way to get away from it completely. I just have to go on with my life.

27 minutes ago, lovjahupepl said:

That is very idealistic. That's not how big companies work. In the USA, people are "sue happy" and if you are a big company, you will make sure to protect yourself as much as possible. Besides, this is an "emergency vaccine", for an emergency situation.

Think of the "Samaritan law". Due to special circumstances, if there is an emergency, and I see you choking and I perform the Heimlich maneuver to save you, I might not know exactly what I'm doing, but I tried, and the law will protect me from getting sued by you if I break your ribs.

27 minutes ago, lovjahupepl said:

Same answer as above.

Of course, the companies may eventually abuse this legislation. That's human nature. That's Satan's world.

27 minutes ago, lovjahupepl said:

Why are the ones responsible for the logistics of administering/giving shots also the ones in charge of gathering the data on their effectiveness or ineffectiveness?

That would just make sense. It would be strategically easier.

Keep in mind that many scientists are performing peer reviews of all the latest data regarding the vaccines.

27 minutes ago, lovjahupepl said:

Who is "they" and who do you think should do it instead?

27 minutes ago, lovjahupepl said:

Again, who is "they"?

Also, see next answer.

27 minutes ago, lovjahupepl said:

Some states/hospitals may have a political incentive to skew the numbers. However, because we have 50 different states, it would be virtually impossible to modify the numbers in all the states the same way. The fraud would become evident immediately. Having 50 states of different political backgrounds, makes it difficult to pull this off.

27 minutes ago, lovjahupepl said:

What are ALL the ingredients in the shot?

Isn't on the CDC website? I haven't checked, but I imagine it would be.

27 minutes ago, lovjahupepl said:

That's a medical question and you would have to ask a doctor for a detailed explanation, but I'm not sure what you're getting at. What is your proposed theory? Is there a worldwide conspiracy to make every single medication ever made on this planet to have a bad side effect on purpose? That theory would be completely unrealistic. Even "natural" homemade remedies need to be taken correctly, or they can cause problems. This is not a perfect science. Doctors have been studying how the human body works for centuries and they will continue to do so, refining their knowledge as they go. It's not a "we studied the human body, we're all done here." It's always a continual learning process.

I have said my peace on the topic so this is my final post on this topic as this could go back and forth for eternity and in the end "those that want to take a shot" will and those that don't "will not".  I am not judging anyone.  I just share food for thought for those that find it useful.

Per the post that asked:  Who are they?

They are those that have a financial interest is the shot taking process.  When money is involved just know that peoples lives are on the "back burner" no matter how much we are told otherwise.

Interesting reading:

https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2017/03/data-check-us-government-share-basic-research-funding-falls-below-50

So where does funding come from if government isn't footing the majority of the bill?

https://www.ashclinicalnews.org/online-exclusives/cdc-pressed-acknowledge-industry-funding/

A petition from advocacy groups is calling for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to stop claiming it does not have relationships with or accept financial support from drug manufacturers and other companies that might benefit from agency research.

The CDC has accepted millions of dollars through the CDC Foundation, according to the groups behind the petition. During fiscal years 2014 through 2018, the CDC Foundation received $79.6 million from companies like Pfizer, Biogen, and Merck. Since it was created by Congress in 1995, the nonprofit organization has accepted $161 million from corporations.

Where does the cdc say they get funding from?

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjhxNDuysjwAhUYCs0KHRt7AmEQFjABegQIAxAD&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cdc.gov%2Fglobalhealth%2Fpdf%2Fglobal-Health-Funding.pdf&usg=AOvVaw2gfSWguHpyTYFr08jjYjum

CDC manages approximately $2.1 billion in financial and resource investments for global health. In addition to Congressional Appropriations, CDC receives approximately $12 million in global funding through foundations and other donors including the Bloomberg Family Foundation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the CDC Foundation.

Who funds the CDC Foundation?

https://www.cdcfoundation.org/partner-list/foundations

Just a few of the funders.  Other shot companies may use another parent company name but these I recognize:

  • Pfizer Foundation

  • Pfizer Foundation United Way Campaign

  • Pfizer Inc.

  • International Center for Vaccine Foundation

Doesn't Pfizer also have a shot out now?

Not saying someone "should" or shouldn't" take a shot just saying that we can't always trust that what we are told about this pandemic, shots, deaths, reactions etc.  This world is corrupt and so it's not a bad idea to be cautious especially if the one providing/manufacturing and managing the data about effectiveness of shots are left to police themselves.  Also things get muddy when the watchdog company (cdc) is either openly or through a sister foundation funded by the makers of said shots or other meds.

All said, no it not wrong to seek medical care but we have to be careful as we can't trust everything we are told.  It also isn't right that so many try to push others to take a "shot" that when you go to take it the form you are given to sign clearly says "this is in clinical trials".  No matter how many answers one can give "for" taking a shot others can also show why "it may not be good" to take it.

I do not judge others and hope that we all as Brothers and Sisters remember to love each other and respect each other's decisions.

Just want to say I don't mean to imply that health care workers, doctors, nurses and those on the frontline during this pandemic are not trying to help keep people healthy.  They are doing their best with what they are taught and the information they are told/provided from agencies like the CDC.

No matter what one's position is "to take a shot" or "not" do not let your guard down as the governing body said they will be taking a wait and see approach once things start reopening.

The world is thinking about "profits" not "lives" so stay safe and alert .

This YouTube comment is full of generalizations & half-truths. Not to mention they are obviously making this political.

1. Yes, you can stop wearing a mask when around other vaccinated people. Because we don’t know 100% if someone vaccinated can be a carrier, better safe than sorry around those who aren’t vaccinated.

2. A lot of things are reopening and have been since early spring. Kids are back in school.

3. Complete lie- it has been said again and again that the vaccine is shown to reduce chance of infection by over 90% when fully vaccinated

4. Because we’re still learning about this novel coronavirus, again, better safe than sorry. Plus we don’t know who around us is vaccinated or not unless we ask.

5. We know that people who participated in the trials still have antibodies 7-8 months later. However, the longer the virus exists and spreads, the more variants pop up- and yes it’s possible some will be more resistant.

6. Yep, you can’t stop social distancing- because again- we don’t know 100% about this NOVEL virus and its ability to spread to unvaccinated people. However, vaccinated people can safely be together.

7. I don’t even know where this one came from- the CDC says it’s fine to be with other vaccinated people. The likelihood of transmitting and spreading the virus among vaccinated individuals is very small.

8. The vaccine is a much safer bet than no vaccine if you’re concerned about the seriousness of COVID- 94% less likely to be hospitalized if fully vaccinated. And almost 100% effective against death.

9. The vaccine has now been around for 9-10 months. Even if the stories about death from the vaccine were true (and I have serious doubts about those), the rate of death is still SO, SO MUCH less than that if COVID-19. I know VAERS shows deaths from the vaccine- it also shows bug bites, circumcision, gun shot wounds, and gonorrhea. A death reported doesn’t mean it was caused by the vaccine; it really, really doesn’t mean that.

10. That “survival rate” (which no expert would ever use as a term btw) is a lie- it’s not 99.7%. And even if it was, that’s still millions of people dead.

11. Back to this- a treatment that works 90-95% of the time is better than no treatment at all, no? I respect if someone who doesn’t want to get vaccinated social distances, wears a mask, and/or stays home so they don’t get sick or spread the virus unknowingly. But sadly, the people posting these comments on YouTube or elsewhere aren’t doing those things. They’re more concerned about their “freedom” and the governments “controlling them”.

12. They’re businesses. Of course they don’t want the liability. It’s the way of the world, sadly.

If you don’t want the vaccine, I understand. I really do. It’s scary not knowing what will happen. But these comments on YouTube are pure conspiracy and very much political, which is obvious based on their use of “government” throughout.

Unless one of us here has been a part of the research team and has personal access to all the data being gathered about the success, the % of effectiveness, reactions, etc. we are all just rattling off stats we have been told, read or what the media tells us.

The only data I can trust is the Bible.  Anything else may require caution due to times we are living in.  But I respect everyones perspective.

I’m sorry, I don’t believe such a huge conspiracy exists. Especially a worldwide one. They would gain nothing from lying; it would be extremely obvious to everyone if the vaccines weren’t effective when people started socializing again and hospitalizations/deaths go back up among vaccinated people.

And why can’t it just be that, yes, a big business profits AND they also save lives? The same as hospitals in America- they are big businesses but they also save people.

As I said, I understand you don’t want the vaccine or think it’s a good idea. I get it. But the comment you posted from someone on YouTube is just making COVID and vaccination out to be a government conspiracy. That’s what I was responding to- and that’s all.

Daydream -

Scientists have discovered that daydreaming is an important tool for creativity. It causes a rush of activity in a circuit, which connects different parts of the brain and allows the mind to make new associations.
