There use to be a "Donate" button a few updates back. It's been missing for a while. However, I'm sure Bob can figure out a way for you to help pay for the upgrade.

I think its in one of his interviews on youtube that he tells us about the extra footage but I can't remember which one, as some of the interviews were not my cuppa tea, but I can't remember which onesl

The funny thing is that the parents "commanded" daughters to attend meetings as they want them to grow up as decent human beings ... (this a long story.. very long... very long lol)

It's a weird world.... Happy it's going right for them now.  We do stand as different from the rest of our worldly families.  Jehovah's way is the right way in this fickle and hardened world.  And sometimes they have to admit it.

      Fair dinkum mate. Thanks.

I realised that it was publicly visible so decided to go with an alter-ego.... still a doctor though!

Does "The Bill" still have a big following over there in Oz? I really miss that series. I do follow the actor who played Danny Glaze from CID in the series as he's from my old home town. The episode where Don Beech feigned his death was filmed in your neck of the woods.

      Ah but I digress!

Use Start full screen - OFF. it was ON before and I did not like it at all.

Now I have additional column next to the icons with actual words. Nice.

Windows 10 grows on me as we speak ..its not bad... :)

Thank you.  I have dragged the other laptop out of the cupboard and had a play around last night.  It is a Samsung Notebook that belonged to my daughter and is actually almost new although 6 years old.  She had it about 10 months and it was on the floor next to her bed and she trod on it and broke the screen. She used an external screen with it for a while but she ended up buying herslf a cheapie as I refused to buy her another one. I have decided to get the screen fixed and have already put WT Library on it so I can use it for study and also for doing my genealogy on. This old Vaio of mine is more like a PC as it never leaves my desk. The little Notebook will be perfect for using in different rooms and will help me get used to Win 10. :)

  11. What is the youngest elder (age factor) that you know personally?

    1. Roberto Flores

      Roberto Flores

Without wanting to be dogmatic, from what I have come to know, it is outstanding, it is not given very often, if a man becomes named before the age of 25, supported by the guidelines of the organization, minimum must have served 3 years As a ministerial servant and having demonstrated that he fulfills the requirements of the Bible, his brother's life must be such that the brother should see him as such in the congregation or in the field where he serves, for example, in the area of Bethel, the last word is the GB

Maybe he broke his arm or hand and is in a cast.  He can only type with one finger in his non-dominant hand.  This would make typing very difficult. (Just trying to think of reasons.  This happened to me recently...I could read but not type much.)

I also miss his well-researched, well-balanced comments.  Very encouraging to me personally.  I hope he's OK.

  13. The local council (Shire) stopped us from positioning our Carts in the outdoor mall at the shopping centre.

They are intentionally targeting Witnesses.. hmmm.. :(

Lucy thanks for your input... the problem is - we want "traffic" for people to  see our carts..

It looks like local Councils are bit "overzealous" in their application of law and order.

Yes, totally agree.  We are limited in our territory, unfortunately.  A bit of a backwater.  But Jehovah can direct interest anywhere, I guess.

I am still sad and disappointed because we had such a sweet spot for our Cart...  not any longer :( ...followed by 100 sad faces.

Indeed, we need more workers here!  :bouncing:

    4. Stoffer

      Stoffer

In the English congregation in Coín (Málaga Province) the brothers have more than 600km² of territory to cover. Here on the Costa del Sol is a great place to live and the more relaxed way of life is conducive to a more enjoyable ministry (even in our Spanish cong). I know they have a special day to work new territory every month so if you feel like serving where the need is great, step over into Macedonia Spain!

Side note: Here in Spain we call a mixed fruit yogurt "Macedonia". Factoid of the day!

I told you I'm not good at math. LOL  I worked it out as 2017 - 1984 = 33.  2017 is this year. 33CE is when Jesus died. Difference is 1984.

I don't know that this is the right way to work it out, though.  How did you reach your calculation, Alexa?

      Light note:

Person: What happens when one writes a letter to President Putin?

Expert: The letter would get filed and copies would be sent to other bureaucratic entities like secret police agency FSB (Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation) and the espionage agency SVR (Foreign Intelligence Service) to ensure that you are not a known spy. If you're not, they will add your name to their list of "future possibles". That way if you decide to travel to Russia in the future, they will know you're coming and may meet you at the airport.
