The Mysterious Coronavirus Spreading Worldwide

I read the article, it stated this -" One is geography -- Taiwan is an island, so it's easier for officials to control entry and exit through its borders".

One of many factors.

"there was Jehovah’s word for him, and it went on to say to him: “What is your business here, E·lijah?" To this (Elijah) he said: “I have been absolutely jealous for Jehovah the God of armies"- 1 Kings 19:9, 10 Reference Bible

But CNN is hardly a trusted or truthful source (which is why I didn't bother to read it). Every covid "success" story CNN reports is directly used to attack the US federal government.

So that's why they compare isolated islands to countries like the US which have physical borders to countries like Mexico and Canada where the virus can be easily driven to the US.

Not an apples to apples comparison.

OK. I've my 1st dose on Friday of Brother Bob's biases.

Well the boarder between the US and Canada is closed both ways.. The only people who can pass are Alaska residents transiting directly to or from Alaska...

Or people who have emergency issues...

If a person comes into Canada ... they have to isolate for two weeks and the RCMP do check on them..that they are compliant.

The only ones that can pass freely are truckers ... not usually a huge vector .. since if you are sick it is hard to drive long distances...

The basic way it spreads is like when we played tag when we were kids .... if you play ... which the majority people do to a certain degree.. then there may come a time when “you are it.”

A tough viral game of tag... for some deadly...others long term residual effects .. fortunately many recover but  often pass it on to friends and family.
We need the kingdom “no more sickness” such sweet words in such sour times.

Zeph 3:17 Jehovah your God is in the midst of you. As a mighty One, he will save. He will exult over you with rejoicing. He will become silent in his love. He will be joyful over you with happy cries....... Love it....a beautiful word picture.

Of course not in February.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

Just heard that England may go into a national lockdown as early as next week because the 3 tier system is not working and cases are rising fast! As well as daily deaths unfortunately 😔
Nothing confirmed yet though.....

Who else thinks this virus is here to stay for a very long time!

It could be, however I think with less intensity. The key will be the vaccine and newer and better treatments. Here in the USA the is only about 2% of those who get infected ....and we don’t even have the vaccine yet.
The way the whole thing has been politicized you’d think the death rate was much much higher, because the goal is always to make things look much worse than they are and blame it on the incumbent. Doesn’t matter who’s in power, the other side always does that. I think this is especially true in this particular election, due to the unprecedented intense hatred toward the incumbent.

This part of an article from Gavi.org

Quote

If, or once, the new coronavirus becomes endemic, there will continue to be great need for an effective, universally accessible COVID-19 vaccine. In the best case scenario, vaccines not only protect millions of people from endemic diseases every year but also provide one of the most effective tools we have at eliminating infections that are established within communities. The smallpox vaccine, which was highly effective and provided long-term immunity against the disease, played a crucial role in the eradication of this deadly virus, a disease that had previously been endemic across all continents. An intensive global vaccination effort that reached into inaccessible areas and carefully tracked and contained all smallpox outbreaks was able to halt transmission of the virus globally.

So whether we’re working to bring this pandemic to an end or to manage COVID-19 as an endemic infection, a vaccine remains a key part of the solution. Yet developing a vaccine is not the end of the story. Measles killed over 140,000 people in 2018, even though we have had a safe and effective vaccine for decades. That’s because millions of children miss out on vaccination every year.
Barriers of geography, economics, logistics, security and misinformation present ongoing challenges in efforts to vaccinate the most vulnerable populations, and it will be no different for COVID-19.

So even if vaccines do provide us with a valuable tool to protect people against this devastating virus, the answer to “when will this end” for all communities will not only depend on how quickly we can develop COVID-19 vaccines, but how quickly we can ensure that they reach everyone in all corners of the world.

A well-fitting N95 is the gold standard, but don’t worry if you can’t get your hands on one. When everyone wears a mask, the combined filtration efficiency increases.

Good ventilation and social distancing further reduce the risk of transmission. And if everyone wears a mask and keeps their distance, the collective benefit goes up.

dont the masks with the little ventilation holes in them defeat the purpose?

One small crack doesn't mean you are broken; it means that you were put to the test and didn't fall apart..

Yes. The exhaust valves are great for keeping the mask cool if the intended purpose if to protect the user from contaminates, however it defeats the purpose of the mask if the intended purpose is to protect others from the user. If someone is wearing a N95 with an exhaust valve, they can put a surgical mask over it.

Some masks have valves that make it easier to exhale, but without filters, these valves do not trap the aerosols you breathe out, so they do little to protect others

Australia records zero Covid-19 cases for first time in five months

Zero cases were reported in the 24 hours between 20:00 on Friday and 20:00 on Saturday - the first time this has happened since 9 June.

The state of Victoria - epicentre of Australia's second wave - recorded zero cases for the second day in a row after a 112-day lockdown.

Health officials say more restrictions may be eased in the coming days.

Australia has recorded some 27,500 infections and 900 deaths to Covid-19 since the pandemic started - far fewer than many nations.

True. Its going to be a "dark winter" according to some. Another doom and gloom prediction that really never materializes. But its the way mankind works. If you want to control people, use fear while hiding anything and everything positive about COVID. I like how treatments are coming online and how the vaccines are showing real promise.

It worth discussing because it give us the light at the end of the tunnel.

The Health Department gave us some N95 masks. One had a valve on it. She said it was for doing, “doing yard work””, since the protection is one way.
We started out using only N95 masks. (We had some left over after a smoke event here) Then the Tribe gave us two boxes of surgical masks, one hundred in each box, use it for a day, and toss it. The clinic gave us 5 N95 masks. I want to save them. For going to the clinic. We try to avoid it, but I am way behind with my blood draw check up, and I have an appointment to get my teeth cleaned, and well as a vision appointment.
We don’t have any COVID-19 in our immediate area, but, going out town to the clinic, another thing. Almost gives me a bit of a panic attack.

I want to age without sharp corners, and have an obedient heart!

If that happens again the cure could become worse than the virus.
