Updates to JW Library (iOS, Android, Windows)

I read this and checked mine - it had not updated and no update pending ...

 

I checked again a couple minutes later, and the update was available. I updated without issue. Not only did it offer light/dark mode - mine came up in dark mode

It really is - I'm so happy!  Now EVERYTHING is in dark mode for me except JWTalk 😉  When I had it that way before, it was hard to quote, copy/paste etc.  Unless that's been changed...

The JW Library app updated in all of the Operating systems.  On my Windows 10 PC, my Ipad and Iphone, my Android device and even my Kindle.

 

The "Dark Mode" is very nice and the Highlighting feature works as well...❤️

Wow I don't know what I would do if I had to read something in dark mode. Whenever I come across a website with a dark theme I just immediately back out because its very hard to read. I am glad there are choices.

I was the same for quite a while. Inverse after-images when looking away just after a few seconds.

I seem to have got used to it now though.

What do you mean "my kindle"? How did you put JWL on a kindle?

You can install Google Play on Kindle devices and then once you have that installed you can install JWL.

I just went to the Amazon "appstore" and typed in JW Library in the search box.  It had the JW Library app for download.

 

It only works on 4th generation or later kindles.

 

If you can't find it (or you have a 3rd generation Kindle) you can go to JW.ORG and go to the Android section and "sideload" the apk file if you wish.

Sorry... Since I have a kindle for reading books (e-reader) I thought you were talking about those... I forgot the fire tablets are also called kindles :facepalm:

Yes, the Dark Theme is available on JWTalk - but it has issues since it is in "Beta" and all the "bugs" have not been worked out (trust me, I have been using it since day one and have learned to deal with the issues)

 

I can understand why Hope and/or others may not choose to use it.

No- I know how to do it. I had changed it as soon as it came out. But the bugs that @Qapla mentioned made me change it back to light.. 😔

I had a few bugs but it is MUCH better than the light mode...like some comments don't show up so I just highlight the comment then read it..
