Dificult to say, even because colds caused by coronaviruses create short imune response, that´s why usually we get a cold every winter or so ...

But in sars it seems to be different. People who got sars back in 2003/4 still have immunity against it.

So it´s probably best to believe the other way around:

New vaccine strategy harnesses ‘foot soldier’ T-cells to provide protection against influenza.

In a study published in Cell Reports Medicine today (Sept. 22), scientists describe a T-cell-based vaccine strategy that is effective against multiple strains of influenza virus. The experimental vaccine, **administered through the nose, delivered long-lasting, multi-pronged protection in the lungs of mice by rallying T-cells, specialist white blood cells that quickly eliminate viral invaders through an immune response.

The research suggests a potential strategy for developing a universal flu vaccine, “so you don’t have to make a new vaccine every year,” explains Marulasiddappa Suresh, a professor of immunology in the School of Veterinary Medicine who led the research. 

The vaccine developed by Suresh and his team is directed against an internal protein of influenza — specifically, nucleoprotein. This protein is conserved between flu strains, meaning its genetic sequences are similar across different strains of flu.

The vaccine also utilizes a special combination of ingredients, or adjuvants, that enhance an immune response, which the researchers developed to stimulate protective T-cells in the lungs. These adjuvants spur T-cells to form into different subtypes — in the case of the experimental flu vaccine, memory helper T-cells and killer T-cells. By doing so, the vaccine leverages multiple modes of immunity.

Researchers demonstrated in a mouse model of influenza that the vaccine provides long-lasting immunity — at least 400 days after vaccination — against multiple flu strains. They will next test the vaccine in ferrets and nonhuman primates, two animal models of influenza research more biologically similar to human infection and transmission.

The researchers believe the same vaccine technology can applied against SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19. “Based on the COVID-19 immunology, we know this vaccine strategy would most likely work,” says Suresh.

The team is now developing an experimental vaccine against COVID-19 and conducting laboratory tests to measure its effectiveness in mice and hamsters, animal models for COVID-19. Initial unpublished studies in mice show that the vaccine stimulates strong T-cell immunity against COVID-19 in the lungs.

One of my elders got Covid last year. Then got Fully vaccinated, then got Covid AGAIN.

 

Very sick both times. Yes, he tested positive both times.

Omicron has a single insertion 214EPE which is exactly like the one from Cold virus HCoV 229E.

It may have more epitopes. This one is known to be comum.

"A workmates daughter in laws grandmother" is not an opening that inspires confidence in the story but it's true (except it's actually his son's girlfriends grandmother).

 

Anyway few days ago she's sent from her nursing home to a hospice, in Ireland that means she's been sent to die except further digging reveals:

1) She's 101

2) She was complaining about the food and the nursing home appeared to want rid of her transferring her without even her medication.

3) The hospice said "Why is she upset about the food?" and tested her for Covid. Turned out she was Asymptomatic except for losing her sense of taste and smell.

4) 101 year old grandmother wants out of the Hospice but is adamant she's not returning to that nursing home.

 

Covid is a problem, people (Vaxed and Unvaxed) are the ones making it a disaster.

 

And on that note my "Dancing TikTok Dancer"tm has highlighted a Rhode Island hospital telling asymptomatic but positive staff to return to work has had a Covid outbreak among patients.

May I ask one scientific question? I’ve heard from others that Caucasians suffer from Covid more severely than other races due to different genetic factors.. Is there any scientific truth to it or is it just total nonsense? 
 

China is an extremely manipulative control freak.. Korea and Japan have people who are a bit more  ‘docile’ for want of a better word comparatively and are living in such collectivistic, communal, kind of ‘judging and witch-hunting cultures, all of which evidently results in better control of the disease.

Coronavirus don’t pick on human races.

it’s an established fact that vit D boosts your imune system.

Caucasian may have less sun exposure hence less vit D.

when taking vit D suplement you should check levels from time to time

i take 5000 ui every day because my intestines can’t absorb it properly and I live by the sea!

everyone should check in a regular way their vit D levels in blood chemistry panel

I don't trust China's numbers, so I suspect covid is worse there than they let on. 

 

Japan as a culture was already wearing masks, so covid regulations may have been easier to accept. 

 

Perhaps the form of government and the lifestyle of people in Japan and Korea have affected the spread of covid in those countries. So, in this case it is not a genetic difference but, rather, a social or political difference.

Yep, just for the U P of Michigan for Tuesday/Wednesday there were 879 cases. 
 

We learned last night that a family, the wife, Deb, is a sister, her mom (a sister) who lives there too, (both vaccinated & boosted). Anyway, her older daughter and her 2 very young children have tested positive for covid. 🥺 The husband (not in truth) refuses to get vaccinated.

 

A sister during service this morning said that Deb’s teenage daughter has a fever and feeling kinda rough but hasn’t been tested yet. 
 

There is 7 people living in the house. How do you isolate with that many people. The poor sister is so stressed.
