Here some things that was interesting.

1. I'm glad they had brother Weaver on there. He is up in age, yet they made him took look important in Jehovah's Organization.

2. I remember the written reviews. Even looking over someone shoulder to get the answers.

3. I believe the time that they did not  sing songs is around the time of Rutherford area. But you you hear it from me.

Yes - I loved seeing  Brother Weaver, he in my relatives congregation just smiling, and yes I recall those written reviews

and looking over side eye like - and the ending song .."Look and See" that is so beautiful...

I really enjoyed the fond memories the broadcast brought back to my mind.  I do remember the chart being in front to the right of the stage.  I certainly remember the written review but I didn't remember that only eight (8) brothers could be used as servants.  I was so happy when we sisters were able to join the TMS.  I was just a very young teenager saying 'present'.  I will never forget Sr Dorothy and her demo - back then we had to choose our own settings and Sr Dorothy was talking to her HH while kneading bread.  She had, on stage, her bowl of dough, flour, cutting board, etc.  As the Sr talked she kneaded and kneaded and kneaded that dough!!  She'd take it out of the bowl and put it back it.  I 'felt it' every time she slapped that dough in and out of that bowl!  I don't remember why she'd put it in and out of the bowl........hmmm, wonder if she was working on gestures.  LOL.    What good memories!  Such a long time ago.  But I don't ever remember not singing.  One of my sisters always played the piano at the KH until we went to recorded music.  She played Kingdom songs on the piano at the NH until she died.  The residents loved the music.   I well remember the counsel slip after our demos.  So many years I have had to work on pausing.  My talking has slowed down a bit now that I am older.  Door to door ministry also helped with learning how to pause in my speech - especially when a HH asked me a question I didn't know the answer to - I simply said 'I don't know but I will find out and come back'.   And, I did go back.   Door to door ministry is what I truly miss today.....maybe someday soon we can do that again.  I have pictures of both sets of grandparents in the street work during WWII.  They were very zealous.  Can't wait to see them all in the resurrection and tell them how we have done the ministry today - letters, phone witnessing, ZOOM!   I actually have one of the old handbills advertising my dad's talk and one for another older brother who traveled from Texas to Louisiana......that was a very loving thing to do then when there were no super highways to travel on in those days!    We were fortunate to travel to other congregations when Dad gave public talks.    I don't know what happened to my testimony card, misplaced it somehow.   I thoroughly enjoyed this broadcast and wonderful memories for me.

I have a love–hate relationship with the massive cliffhanger of the history video. 🙂

The continuing will be published on a Monday this Monday for sure

Oh yes...fond memories  my older sister who was like my mom and took me to meetings as a babe use to play for the KH's as well - she was such a humble sis - brought back fond memories - and some misty eyes as well...but that

song "Look and See" just help me envision the joy what is to come very soon!

I remember playing the piano for the meetings. Very nervous. At one point, someone donated a baby grand piano, oh what beautiful sound it had. It almost covered up my many mistakes.   I remember saying a prayer to Jehovah before each song, it truly was only with his help that I made it through.

Love all the memories this broadcast helped recall.

Thanks for that I was wondering what the board was in each photo. I remember some older once mentioning a chart with each publisher field service report for all to see.

Is this board similar to that?

Yes, that is the congregation monthly service report chart.  Most congregations had it on an easel but I knew one congregation that mounted it on the side wall of the stage on hinges.  they would swing it out for all to see when the meeting part called for it.  I have attached a photograph of a chart.

The new series - "Our History in Motion" is super interesting for us, new in the truth or older. But Im sure it will be so useful to teach the ressurected!! ❤️  ( In portuguese it´s UMA HISTÓRIA COM FUTURO" = A HISTORY WITH A FUTURE).

The advantage the resurrected will have is they will be able to actually talk and hear in person from these faithful brothers and sisters that made theocratic history.  They will not be limited to videos an archival records.

Soon...

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

They were bringing out that there was a time that did not sing songs and wait later to find out. I believe that it was during the time of Rutherford was WT President. But, I could be wrong on this.

No doubt what all our studios are being built for- to record in-depth, concise interviews. I can't imagine these friends giving constant in-person, live interviews about their lives every time they meet someone. Same for the men/women of old.

Being constantly on tour/display and questioned doesn't sound like a paradise life to me.. 😉🤷🏽‍♀️

On the other hand, I'm sure you enjoy live musical performances even though you can listen to recorded music.

Regardless, that was not my point. Even if it is a recording made by a resurrected individual who was alive during that time period, that is still better than a recording of a second or third hand account of that same time period.   So it will be "better" in the new system when people will hear first hand accounts (even if it is a recording) than it would be to listen to some recording made this year by a brother or sister who did not live through the event.

You can find the answer to the question of when singing stopped in the Proclaimers book, but you must research elsewhere to find the answer as to why it stopped.

I'm stumped, can't find it anywhere...a little hint perhaps?

Absolutely!  I just would never expect to get a performance from an artist just because I happened to run into him at the grocery store 😉

So... the "why" is the question.  Was it considered too "church-y"?

At that time we were disposing of any and all connotation that we were a religion. Remember "Religion is a snare and a racket." We didn't have congregations we had companies. We did not have pastors of elders, we had servants. We did not sing because hymn singing was connected to religion. No deacons either. The circuit overseer was the "Servant to the Brethren", later the 'circuit servant'. We had talks, not sermons, no giving of testimony.

If there was even the tiniest connection to a religious practice we didn't do it, or called it by a secular name, thus the term 'pioneer.'

Br. Jamie gave the reference.  Here is a small portion of that material on page 240-241 of the "Proclaimers" book.

True. If I’m right, Rutherford told friends that the songs they were singing did not line up how they understood the scriptures back then.

A Wikipedia search of brother Joseph Franklin Rutherford gives this:
