I know what was said in the MWM tonight about a complaining attitude... but as a moderator and using moderation tools, I really struggle with the latest update 🤫  however,  I know how long it took Bob to sort it out and install it etc... in many ways the site runs like a well oiled machine, very slick!! 

 

On the other hand it has a few glitches and faults... but I guess we do too and we still love each other or at least we all strive to get along. 

 

I can best describe my feelings on the update as a 'Love, Hate' relationship 🤐😂

Account Settings, and then Content View Behavior. Choose: “When opening content, take me to comments I haven’t read.”

 

Interestingly, I also found it by accident just about a few hours before seeing this post. Some of the functions are very well hidden.

  • Renamed site to “JWTalk – Jehovah’s Witnesses Online Community”
  • Upgraded to IPS 4.6+
  • Revamped point system so that it rewards community involvement.
  • Added Badge feature to reward community involvement.
  • Swapped our previous ranking system for the new one that Invision designed.
  • Added support for web push notifications.
  • Added support for Emoji 13.0 emojis.
  • Added new “Solutions” feature but then disabled it for certain forums where it doesn’t seem necessary.
  • Added a block to user profiles to show the number of solutions the member has submitted, and a page to view all solutions.
  • Added a link to re-enable a disabled messenger on mobile.
  • Reintroduced the ability to automatically embed Facebook and Instagram links in posts.
  • Upgraded CKEditor to 4.16.
  • Removed support for Twitch embeds as Twitch has removed their oembed endpoint with no plans to introduce a new one.
  • Removed notification sounds.
  • Added ability to remove category and album cover photos.

After upgrading, they system started awarding points and badges effective today. I commanded the system to go all the way back to 2006 and recalculate everyones points and badges from the beginning of time. So the badges are unavailable until the process is complete.

If I’m understanding the question right, Gmail has the option to go to Unread emails on their Email Inbox page.

I know the Dark Theme is not a priority ... however, with this new update there was one very distracting change made.

As you can see the text that shows the thread path and the "unread Content" is quite dark and hard to read.

I haven't looked them over, but we can rename and add ranks and change the point values associated with them if need be.
