JWTalk.net <- 15 Years of Jehovah's Blessing :)

For a little bit of history, the domain name www.jwtalk.net was registered on September 4th, 2006, which was 15 years ago this month. 

 

We started as a members only forum for local friends in local congregations using a freeware script called MyBB. Not before long, it lost it's initial traction. Then, a previous JW Forum was taken offline and so we made the effort to invite those abandoned forum refugees to join over here instead. We eventually switched to a freeware script called Phorum and couldn't migrate the MyBB database.

 

Once Facebook became available to the public in general, activity in the Phorum suffered tremendously, and so we decided to abandon the referral-only approach and go Public, allowing search engines like Google to find us and index our content and promoting the forum in various JW Facebook groups. This worked out well, and membership in the JWTalk Online Community of Jehovah's Witnesses began to grow. As other JW Forums, MSN Email Lists, and Yahoo Groups, were discontinued, their members found their way here.

 

Today, JWTalk.net is known to be the largest and busiest, and for many the one and only pro-JW community on the internet. We rigorously vet new member applications and work diligently to keep unqualified, apostate, and opposed individuals out and our boards clean of their harmful propaganda. With the help of our loving brothers and sisters here in the community, we've seen publishers dedicated themselves to Jehovah through water baptism. We've seen members who were struggling emotionally encouraged and strengthened by the Christian love they've received from brothers and sisters who may be on the opposite sides of the globe. We've seen members struggling spiritually grow and now they are the ones encouraging others by their fine comments. Many of us have travelled and met other members face to face and sat next to them at their Kingdom Halls. The community has been a blessing during the pandemic as we have been able to enjoy good association with one another any time of day.

Of course, none of this would work if it wasn't for your love for Jehovah and for your brothers and sisters. Let us continue to "have love for the whole association of brothers (and sisters!)" - 1 Peter 2:17

I remember years ago that a friend of mine had heard that Br. John Barr died. So I searched with google for verification of that news. That's how I found JWTalk. So since 2010 I have been a member of this Forum and enjoyed being here every day.

Much love for the friends that I've made here, especially those who have counseled and encouraged me over the years. It was a large influence in helping me progress to baptism, and learning how to deal with many of my personal issues. Thank you Bob and all of the moderators for your efforts to provide a safe format for these discussions. I will continue to look forward to the day that we may be able to associate without any of the current problems or worries.

I joined in February of 2012 so nearly 10 years ago. 

This was a great decision. I've learned so much here, both spiritually and from all of you in different cultures. I cherish the friends I've made, they've helped round out my way of thinking, broadened my point of view. Love that.

I have lived in many places across Canada and have made friends and connections with many 100’s of brothers and sisters.. 

In contrast this  site has allowed me to widen out and make good friends with brothers and sisters in every part of the world.. I really feel that I have a pulse on the world wide brotherhood. 
It is amazing that no matter what culture or background, we have the language of the truth to share. My spirituality  and my love for my brothers has greatly increased by being here and that is good thing.

Made some really good friends and helped boot some bad actors.  I have found it to be a  safe place to associate with the friends worldwide due to the hard work of the Administrators, Moderators and the wonderful Members who never let their guard down to the 'trap of the birdcatcher' and his minions.

This is the hardest place for apostates to operate..no matter what timezone or place, anybody can pin mods on the spot when questionable comments are posted. 

(Please do not resort to this... 2AM in Spain...hey Carlos...this is Greg from Down Under ...have you seen this comment ...can you please have a look ...LOL )

This is truly united place and apart from jw.org, this is unique site that we all need to cherish and contribute by being pleasant to each other,  and simply enjoy association.
